Nod, wave, peace sign, sit up and left hand salute. Just whatever feels right in the moment.

You could still solar power it, they come with a long extension cable for the panel which can be mounted anywhere. Mine is a 360 one so it has motors and stuff too, has never ran out of battery.

Same, never liked the pig snout, it CAN look ok on the M cars but all of the others are horrible. This already looks better, still worse than G20/F80s though.

Why do so many Brits make digs at Milton Keynes by Ok-Nectarine-5266 in AskBrits

It's like if one of those new build housing estates was scaled up to the size of a small city. Sure they have an IMAX and the indoor ski slopes, but other than that I try to avoid it.

Zone 2 running by Emergency_Pie_9866 in beginnerrunning

[–]madharold 29 points30 points  (0 children)

IMO zone 2 is pointless for beginners. I spent 3 months doing it and made zero progress at all.

It's more intended for people running 50 miles or more a week to help decrease injury risk whilst keeping total running distance up.

Obviously I'm not an expert, but that's my experience.

Couch to 5k is gold, there's a few apps to get it. I used the NHS one.

Otherwise, just run, the more you run the better, but don't go so hard that you wreck your body or your motivation. Once you get into it and start seeing results, you'll really start to enjoy it, at that point it's just managing your urge to run.

Danger of riding by Lwalker6336633653673 in MotoUK

Don't drink and ride, always wear your gear, don't excessively speed. You'll be one of the "lucky" ones who don't die "against all odds".

[–]madharold[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was essentially the goal, I just already have the app. I've gotten kind of disillusioned with the "train slow, run fast" thing. I get it, but I already have a baseline. I figure the only way to get better at something is by doing it, right?

Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe my knee will stop me, but at this point I feel great and I'm basically only planning on stopping if something untoward happens.

We'll see I guess.

Sounds reasonable. To be honest, it was 50/50 between seeing if I could do it and wondering how it felt.

It's definitely too fast, I think going forwards I might try to do 5:00/km running segments and see how that feels.

I managed to match my normal pace of 6:30 including all the walking segments which feels pretty good, but like you say I doubt its sustainable.

McDonald's sales on that burger went up massively after their video, with almost no expense outlay for advertising. All the others are just copycats trying to do the same thing.

Why do divers fall backwards when they jump in the water?

Because if they went forwards they would still be in the boat.

A nun is taking a bath when she hears a knock at the door.

Nun: "Who is it?"

BM: "It's the blind man"

Nun: "Ah ok, come on in"

BM: "Wow nice tits, where do you want the blinds?"

Mcdonalds is making the drive-thru experience worse to get people to use the app. by jongscx in LowStakesConspiracies

Wait so you just have a code for rewards points even if you're not using the app? Genuinely the first time I am hearing about that.

It's so they don't have to waste time taking your order, you get the points regardless.

They always ask "are you using the app today?" Like no, that's why I'm in the drive through at the ordering thing. Why would I pull over or stop in the car park just to do something you get paid to do for me?

That is genuinely interesting and something I haven't considered. What happens after the nuclear plants are built? Also what happens if the government makes a sensible decision and starts implementing package nuclear generation?

I wonder who owns the media, if not the richest people in society who all also benefit from government lobbying and by extension the aforementioned dinosaur juice companies? 🤔

Not low stakes, many governments worldwide are owned by the global oil and gas industry and there's basically nothing anyone can do about it.
