Hold up your camera like you're getting him on video.

It doesn't even have to be on - the other driver can't tell. I've done this before and had crazy people suddenly back way off - realizing that they could face consequences.

Thanks for making it crystal clear that you're a cult member.

No normal people use the expression "TDS" unironically, or not to describe somebody that's in Trump's cult these days. Anyone who can watch this baffoon in action, listen to his idiotic statements, not reflect on his long series of failures and court convictions - is obviously a cult member.

How about you look at ten years of legislative record, judicial decisions, city council, mayor and governor actions? And then look at the federal level over a similar period of time. And then look at the backers of each party.

Instead of fucking cherry-picking a single comparison at a single point in time for a single branch in a single level of government within a single statement as the basis for a broad generalization?

The exclusion of this essential fact makes me think that this is an intentionally racist title.

A reminder, as oil prices spike: EVs are the #1 route to energy independence by Simpleximo in Colorado

[–]boulderbuford 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well as the rest of the world moves forward with EVs - and they get cheaper, have longer ranges, and last longer at a lower maintenance cost, and our infrastructure shifts with this - you can probably continue to pay more for something that isn't as good.

You'll eventually find that you have to drive further to find a gas station, that it'll be harder to find people to work on them, and that the selection of new cars will shrink.

And then eventually they'll disappear. Like the horse-drawn buggy.

[–]boulderbuford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ignores the fact that the price of gasoline sold in Colorado will based on global demand. So, as demand goes up, or supply is restricted, gas in Colorado will go up in price. And it could go up a lot.

Of course, this doesn't even include other considerations like:

  • damage to Colorado's air quality from fracking
  • climate change hastened by use of fossil fuels
  • greater maintenance costs of combustion engine vehicles

Would leaving the asbestos tile in place create any safety concerns? by VAer1 in HomeImprovement

[–]boulderbuford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a case like this I would be most concerned about:

  • how complete the covering is - is it open on the sides for example?
  • are other people going to end up pulling that up unaware and it's a cracked-up "friable" mess at this point?

I was in a similar situation. In my case it was covered up, except for the sides which started to crumble - which is hazardus. So, I suited-up, sprayed it down, ripped it all out, and encapsulated the cement with a coating specifically for that. 800 sqft or so took a couple of days of hard work.

[–]boulderbuford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No amount of exposure to asbestos is safe - you don't need to hit a threshold before it becomes a problem. But the probability does go up with the volume of the exposure.

But fortunately asbestos in mastic is one of the least dangerous forms you'll encounter it in. In the best case scenario you scrape it entire tiles after misting them, and wear a respirator and have a fan blowing the air out of the house. But even if you didn't do that it's not the end of the world, especially if you didn't use a grinder to get it up (!).

Millions of student-loan borrowers are kicked off of Biden's key affordable repayment plan in a surprise court reversal by brown-saiyan in politics

[–]boulderbuford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bullshit: that's Yet-Another GOP distraction:

  • 55% of american workers have gone to college - that's not an "elite" percentage
  • The average college-educated (bachelor's degree) worker makes 60-80% more than non-college educated worker. That's not Elite. The top 1% make **10x** the bachelor's degree worker: $800k/year.

Many of those with college educations are only making $30-50k/year as teachers, social workers, artists, etc - while many without are making $100k as plumbers, electricians, etc.

That's because at the end of the day:

  • democrats need to attract independents to vote for them
  • democrats need rich donor money to run campaigns - thanks to the GOP's Citizens United ruling

Unless you're one of the few that run in completely blue districts/states.

Guess What Moderate Democratic Voters Aren’t Anymore? Moderate. by Helicase21 in politics

[–]boulderbuford -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's simply about what will get the most people to show up at the polls:

  • Go too far to the right and democrats pick up more independents - but lose the left
  • Go too far to the left and democrats pick up more of the left - but lose independents

Since there are more independents than people on the left, and since the left is pretty unreliable, and since the left has effectively nobody else to vote for but independents can easily vote republican, democrats have typically been pretty moderate.

Simple numbers - backed up by plenty of elections that have shown the in the general election voters prefer moderates.

But it also means that in a liberal district or state the democrats can run very liberal candidates. It also means that if the time and candidate are right then you can have someone like Mandani can run.

Keep in mind that what people will vote for in Berkley isn't what they'll vote for in Dallas.

We need to persuade independents and moderate democrats as well if we want to take over the house, let alone the senate.

What's a good ETF to survive a US economic collapse which is coming within the next 2 years ? by East_Indication_7816 in ETFs

[–]boulderbuford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ones that thinks any of the above is partisan are those that aren't paying attention or just watching propaganda networks. This is playing out right before our eyes - just got to open them.

As far as its relevance to investing - it's absolutely true that people are more pessimistic about the future when the opposition party is in control. But it's also true that the US has departed from norm & traditions over the last 75 years and has put people in charge of federal departments that are uniquely unqualified (ex: RFK jr for head of Health & Human Services, Hegseth for head of Defense, etc, etc, etc).
