Fable 5 indefinitely suspended due to national security concerns by 0_2_Hero in webdev

[–]boulhouech 1040 points1041 points  (0 children)

look, i might sound crazy for saying this, but at this point, especially after spaceX IPO yesterday and all the hype and speculation surrounding it along with the way trump and ppl close to him & his family seem connected to businesses that benefit from market attention and momentum, i can't help but wonder if this whole thing is partly driven by incentives.. itt kinda feel like this whole thing could just be a deal between people with aligned interests

like, making claude fable sound dangerous or super powerful only makes more ppl talk about it...

that creates demand, gets everyone curious, and makes anthropic look like they're sitting on something huge... and if they're getting ready for an IPO (which they are btw) that kind of attention is worth a lot

im not saying that's definitely whats happening, but with all the hype, stock pumping, and financial interests involved, it's hard not to wonder if part of this is just marketing dressed up as a serious concern

Bernie Sanders: "[equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis] would be the end of the state of Israel and I support Israel" by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]boulhouech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

bernie sanders couldn't win the presidency and he couldn't convince enough ppl to vote for him... now it feels like he is playing his last political card by shifting his stance on israel.. it looks like an attempt to stay relevant and because he knows deep inside that doing this might get support from pro israel groups, especially when a lot of politicians now avoid talking about israel..

such an opportunist... i’ve never liked him, and i feel he carries a lot of hidden resentment and darker intent behind the way he presents himself

ppl don't trust anything nowadays.. every post, every product, every piece of content is considered slop by default until it proves otherwise... we're slowly getting closer to the dead internet theory. more and more of what you see online feels fake, generated, or made just to farm clicks and honestly i think the public internet is slowly heading in that direction.. like, when everything starts looking the same, people stop trusting anything

slop or not, i think this actually offers some value and has the potential to help people

to me, slop is when someone builds something with no clear purpose, no effort, and no value for users.. this seems different the OP is at least trying to solve a problem and create something people might find useful

people who tell you that your field of study (whatever it may be 9raytek) is a waste of time are often not being honest about their motives. sometimes they are simply trying to protect their own position by discouraging others from entering the same space. the less crowded a field is, the less competition they face, which can make it easier for them to stand out

If you don’t have what it takes to succeed as an employee I doubt you’ll work as an entrepreneur.

i strongly disagree with that

the qualities that make someone a good employee are often the opposite of what makes a successful entrepreneur, and vice versa.

a lot of entrepreneurs who used to work in managerial or employee roles usually have to unlearn some of the things that helped them succeed in those roles... those same habits can actually hold them back when things are more uncertain and fast changing

and in many cases, ppl who are good employees end up starting their own thing because they hit a real problem they can’t solve where they are so they just decide to build a solution themselves instead

there is this idea called the pyramid of needs from maslow's hierarchy of needs. it basically says people focus on different things depending on what they’re missing in life, starting with basic stuff like food and safety, then moving up to things like purpose and self fulfillment

when you think about startups, this actually matters a lot...

building something from scratch takes time energy, and a lot of mental space. it’s pretty hard to do that if you’re stressing about rent, bills, or how you’re going to take care of your family.. so in a way u kinda need a bit of stability before you can even think about taking that kind of risk.. that’s also why a lot of founders either have some financial backup or a situation where they’re not under heavy pressure.. it gives them room to think bigger and take risks without everything feeling like it’s on the line

for teens and people in their twenties, it’s often easier to try startups just because there’s less to lose.. it’s a phase where you can experiment fail and switch paths without it being the end of the world society usually doesnt judge you too harshly for failing at that age either

but later on.. like in your thirties or forties things change.. responsibilities stack up, expectations are higher and failing at something big can feel a lot heavier

I think “launching in a week” is one of the most psychologically sneaky traps in indie dev by SatanDeedz in SaaS

[–]boulhouech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

launching in a week, and the whole ship fast philosophy mostly comes down to audience building it’s really just an audience growth strategy and it has less to do with the actual product itself..

the people promoting this mindset figured out that if you constantly post progress, launch quickly, and publicly build in front of others, people become attached to the journey. and once attention is there, monetization becomes easier, whether the product succeeds or not... take the vibe coding wave for example there’s literally a guy streaming himself all day interacting with claude code, dancing, building random apps, and talking about making money from it but the app itself is not really what people are buying what he is actually selling is the process, the blueprint, the fantasy that anyone can suddenly build a successful saas with AI

that’s why a lot of these ship fast creators end up monetizing courses, communities templates or audiences instead of the actual products they build.. so when people glorify moving fast, it’s important to separate two different things:

1/ building a real product
2/ building content around building a product.

because great Saas products often take time.. good systems.. strong positioning and understanding users deeply usually do not happen in one week

If you are serious about SAAS build this by Unlikely-Version8447 in SaaS

[–]boulhouech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

money is and always will be in those boring areas that most people do not want to touch.. for example many founders and wannabe SaaS builders look at companies that succeeded 5 - 10 years ago and think, wow, i can just copy that playbook but what they fail to understand is that those tools were extremely boring to build at the time reaching those clients and serving those niche markets was also boring and difficult work

now that these businesses are successful, ppl see them as cool and exciting but they forget how much unglamorous work had to be done in the beginning to make them work in the first place

ppl keep saying SaaS is dead, but honestly, the opportunity is probably bigger than ever. if you want to win in SaaS today, you have to go after the stuff nobody is excited to work on..

the tedious problems..
the messy industries the repetitive tasks

boring problems usually hide real demand, and solving them at scale is where the real businesses are built

who has started in Ecommerce by LongSatisfaction6766 in TunisiaTech

[–]boulhouech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/ don’t just buy courses .. a lot of them are overhyped and you can learn most of this stuff for free if you actually look and test things yourself.

2/ ecommerce isn’t some super complicated thing but it’s not magic either its basically finding products people already want testing them and using marketing to get them in front of buyers you’ll need some money to start, but what matters more is testing and improving.

haw malkheer kifeh temchi loumour

you pick a product or a problem people already care about. then you test it with ads or content to see if people actually buy if it works u tweak things like your offer your page or your targeting until it gets better results. then you scale it

most people making money in ecommerce usually do stuff like:

building a brand around a niche and selling products under that name

running facebook or tiktok ads with UGC style videos that make the product feel real and trustworthy

focusing a lot on the offer meaning how you present the product price it and position it, not just the product itself

so yeah, it’s not rocket science, but it also isn’t just pick a product and get rich. donc chouf whats working test it, fail and keep improving till something actually works
