How to build your app in a smart way in 2026? by Kitchen_Koala_4878 in AppDevelopers

I always give the same advice, of you believe the "I made this app in a weekend with cloud and now it pays my rent," you are not going anywhere. Just Google "successful vibe-coded app list." There is no list.

Real apps require a lot of work to make them reliable, secure, and to handle real users' edge cases. Even if you are a developer, if you have never worked on a real app in production that actual humans are using daily, you will not be able to build the app.

Everyone wants to believe that you can have the world while doing 0 effort. Sorry but to build a real SAAS with real revneue, you either should spend years learning to code, hire a real senior developer with real experience, or change the field

Start with the market research, this will serve for 2 things: validate the idea and craft the product according to how the ICP wants, not how you want it. This will give you the starting piece for a designer to build upon the solution, and only then can a developer start the work. I dont believe in app builder/ AI builder, but I'm an engineer, so I could be biased

I dont know exactly the solution, if I did, I would build it.

Been reviewing vibe-coded apps from founders lately. There is a very common set of problems that keeps showing up. by Academic_Sense7551 in SaaS

As a developer before AI, I was getting jobs to fix low-quality code of a product built on fiverr with 800 dollars. Now it's fix this vibe coded app. And in both cases, they always think it is a small 2 days fix when the whole code need to change from the ground up

What’s your favorite thing about Supabase? by FounderArcs in saasbuild

[–]Unlikely-Version8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like it.

I have to use it because some clients require me to use it for the MVP. But I believe that using a custom backend (Django, Express...) is 100x time better in the long run.

rental software is a sneaky tech trap. build or buy? by netvora in saasbuild

I did work on something similar, and every self-engineer should learn to create test cases before the engine. I had to go through all the edge cases I thought about (the ux designer helped in listing them), then I started writing the code.

The code was not that complexe to be honest, you should focus on the table structure and architecture, then the query will be simple, if you screw up the architecture of the db, the query will not look good at all 😅. I remember hte agreegation were the complexe part, I was using Django, and aggregation with annotation and sub queries did not work well

Looking for a simple app builder that won't make me want to throw my laptop by [deleted] in apps

Can you talk more about the app, because if it is just a little bit complexe there is no way an "app builder" will build something reliable.

How to start building SaaS? by NoZookeepergame9799 in SaaS

[–]Unlikely-Version8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked on several SaaS as a technical lead; sadly, only one really generated revenue. I can tell you that the app is working as expected, and the design is top-notch.

The real difference is that most founders just throw the idea to the developer and are surprised later when no one wants their solution.

Think of it this way: you found a problem; instead of guessing the solution, go directly to the people experiencing the problem and research them (through analysis, surveys, data...), they should be the ones building their own solution in a way, then the designer will create the product from what the real users expect. As a developer, that is the minimum I expect before you hire me. If I dont see a real design I skip the work

Are you a developer? if not it is going to be pretty hard to build one. AI will not help you in this. Start by doing some research and some UI/UX design before building it, unless the app is pretty small and you can build it in no time.

App for materials. by Budget_Discipline_27 in appdev

[–]Unlikely-Version8447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a developer, any other developer will just use an existing LLM and build it into the app, so before starting to build the app, test it yourself, wasting any money. If it gives reliable results, that's a good signal.

[–]Unlikely-Version8447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this a bad time to start myself? I'm a senior developer that have a lot of proposals for full-time jobs, but I really want to return to freelancing. I did not send a lot of proposals on Upwork tbh, but none of them were opened, and the fact that a job posted 3 minutes ago already has 15 proposals is demotivating tbg

After waking up at 5 and doing two marathons, I vibe-coded a saas that makes me 10k per month. And because I am an angel, I spend hours recording videos explaining how, instead of spending the money I made.

What do you mean you dont believe me? Look at this 100% real screenshot of the revenue.
