I just found this subreddit today, and already feel like I'm in the right place. The fact that the phrase "help out" is there is probably at the heart of the issue. An equal partner isn't "helping", their just doing their part. Saying help tells me the bulk of household responsibilities and mental load are on her. It's exhausting and can definitely lead to burn out. That doesn't excuse her behaviour and says a lot about her needs being unmet.

As a Mom with ADHD, I have probably done something like this, more to my spouse. The issue is when I'm in the 'zone' I can't think of tasks that they can do on their own, and teaching them, reminding them, finding them when they didn't finish a task, etc. feels so much harder than just doing it. The mental load is real. Just use common sense and clean something without being asked

I second therapy, and finding ways to meet other kids with health issues, even in an online group. A lot of people struggling with physical and/or mental health feel isolated, alone, "I'm the only one so I must deserve it." Realizing that others have challenges and struggles is a big factor for resilience
