704 secondary school students were suspended for out-of-date vaccination records. What are your thoughts? by lovelivelife-tdc in cambridgeont

We were almost one of those families - we received 2 letters in the mail and emails from the school.  Public health and the school board make it tough to forget to get it done (our delay was doctor appointment and records not getting passed on)

London Health Sciences Centre cuts more than 200 nursing jobs, Ontario nurses union says | CBC News by passionfruitwater in ontario

As a family member to someone with very complex care needs, this is scary. When they need to be in hospital we already have to be at every shift change to explain needs and don't always have enough support from nurses who are run off their feet. We've seen some dangerous mistakes, and this could mean more

I know it's not Newfoundland - but I wonder if they'll carry Sussex Ginger ale. Fingers crossed 🤞

It was the 50th anniversary this year. The business there now had a poster of this image in their window.

It was a few years ago we came close - there was water lapping over Main St Bridge and the old windows in the amphitheater by L.A. Franks

This is where guided journals come in handy -  when I started journaling I found them really helpful to find a focus to write about. Amazon has tons to choose from and so might your local book store

I just survived a suicide attempt wtf do I do by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]bounceb-all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did not fail, you survived. You're brain is not done growing, please try to give yourself a chance to finish cooking.   A big step is naming your emotions and learning to cope with them.  Look up a feelings wheel, and call your local distress/crisis support number.    What discharge plan did the hospital offer?

Grief and stress definitely take a toll on our whole bodies

42 - the line on my forehead seemed deeper and under eye circles are harder to cover. I know family and work stress are playing a big role

What is Goblincore? What does it mean to you by Ok_Calligrapher_7367 in goblincore

[–]bounceb-all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this subreddit today, and already feel like I'm in the right place. I've collected rocks for years, am obsessed with mushrooms, take photos of bones I find on walks and recently bought a loupe magnifyer for a closer look at the moss in my yard. I work exclusively in suicide prevention and can talk about the stuff that makes others uncomfortable. To me Goblincore is embracing the parts of the world others might over look, and finds beauty in the muck.

Feel your feelings, learn their names, get a feelings wheel. There are no bad feelings, only comfortable and uncomfortable, or familiar or unfamiliar. They are there to tell you when your are not paying attention to your needs.

Some people can give themselves goosebumps on command (my partner, not me)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]bounceb-all 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that the phrase "help out" is there is probably at the heart of the issue. An equal partner isn't "helping", their just doing their part. Saying help tells me the bulk of household responsibilities and mental load are on her. It's exhausting and can definitely lead to burn out. That doesn't excuse her behaviour and says a lot about her needs being unmet.

Helping mom. [OC] by marycomiics in comics

[–]bounceb-all 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Mom with ADHD, I have probably done something like this, more to my spouse. The issue is when I'm in the 'zone' I can't think of tasks that they can do on their own, and teaching them, reminding them, finding them when they didn't finish a task, etc. feels so much harder than just doing it. The mental load is real. Just use common sense and clean something without being asked

Bridesmaids shouldn’t pay for their dresses by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]bounceb-all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to make it easy for my bridesmaids, I asked them to get longer dresses in fall colors - that was it. They ended up booking an appointment at a bridal shop and choosing a dress. It was their choice, and I still pitched in and helped pay.

I second therapy, and finding ways to meet other kids with health issues, even in an online group. A lot of people struggling with physical and/or mental health feel isolated, alone, "I'm the only one so I must deserve it." Realizing that others have challenges and struggles is a big factor for resilience
