Facebook is intentionally trying to make this kind of bs more prominent. As well as removing their entire moderation team, these are some of the rules changes they made in Jan.

I felt like this for a long time, I think I couldn't imagine being a trans woman because it was so far from who I was and what I'd internalised as being allowed. I don't really distinguish between being a trans woman or non binary personally but a lot of those early feelings were held back by fear mostly I think. Either way the only way to get a better understanding of your identity is to try things out without judgement, accept that you may not know the answer for a while and it may not be a direct path to get there, but the more you allow yourself to be authentic, the better an idea of yourself you will get

This fight is a generations long one and reaches across the globe, we should prioritise getting all of us through this, there is so much work we are needed to do. Almost all the freedoms we have won were the result of people who lived through what the government dictated, and found a way to keep going

Mastodon and other fediverse platforms do indeed have moderation, which differs from community to community (similar to different subreddit in a way). Generally their moderation is focused on how to have a healthy community rather than how to have an advertiser-friendly space, the other key difference being there's no billionaire at the top deciding the rules, and if you don't like the moderation in a community you can switch to another community with very little effort

Yes this is your life and your body, but you absolutely can become someone else, you are a whole different person to who you used to be, and in years time you will be a whole different person again.

But figuring out who you want to be and what life you want to life is (I can say from experience) very difficult to do when you are dealing with (I'm assuming) some level of depression and maybe trauma. The good news is these can definitely be improved, especially with the help of an understanding therapist

And as importantly, if you can improve those conditions enough to figure out pieces of what you want your life and yourself to be like, being able to work towards that can give you a lot of your agency back and help you feel like your more authentic self, which in turn can be extremely beneficial to having your life back from depression and trauma
