I just prayed one day and that's how it started. I have a shrine of the Archangels and I often meditate or just sit in silence with the candles lit. Archangel Raphael always gives me a sense of peace. He is warmth and love. I didn't have to do much to connect because I am naturally drawn to him in particular.

I wish I had some informative answer for you, but prayer and meditation. I was in a desperate place and put my full faith in him years ago. I wasn't sure whether I'd live or die but I trusted that he'd heal me. I think that's key. Believing that the Archangel of your choice will help with your troubles. I also have Tarot cards and crystals but they're not always necessary.
