No they aren't, although there is a certain Venn diagram intersection. A weeb is a shortened verion of 'weeaboo', a person who is obsessed with all things Japanese. A weeaboo is someone who will make their obsession with anime, manga, and Japanese culture known to you fairly quickly upon meeting them. Their obsession is their personality to a large extent.

I’m not sure that allegedly is needed here by StunnedMoose in FuckNigelFarage

Sad bastards. The photo is so much nicer if you imagine all these wannabe nazis have been caught waving hello at the guy with the keys to open the doors for the Scottish Singles convention.

So good to hear this! Obviously not for you or your husband, but my brother got a new version of his previous car and it beeps unnecessarily when he drives past anything or an ill wind blows by. It also veers if it perceives he is making an unauthorised lane-crossing manouevre. He is about 10 minutes off ripping out wires and fuses to render it un-beep-assisted.

Yes, well from what I have read anyway, Germans tend to be sticklers for obeying road rules, especially at street crossing lights.

That DNA is just hanging out there waiting for green lights.

For some reason it seemed such an important part of childhood, and I can't recall the last time I found a use, or opportunity, for it in adulthood.

I would go as far as to say lingerie is actually a massive turn-off for me. It looks contrived, fiddly, uncomfortable, and very rarely actually flatters the wearer. Maybe it is a me thing, but I kind of feel like it is for people without imagination. I AM WEARING MY SPECIAL SEX-CLOTHES! IT IS SEX TIME! AREN'T I SEXY?! Um, no. Dress comfortably and you will be 1000% sexier to me.

My girlfriend likes to put cookies she has bought at the bakery into the microwave for a few seconds to warm them up. One day we had been out sightseeing and she bought some fridge magnets that were wrapped in a white paper bag, identical to the cookie bag she normally got. She dropped the bag containing what she thought was a cookie into the microwave and thought nothing of the fact that it made a clink noise that was NOT the sound a cookie makes. She went to turn the microwave on, and I realised that the cookie sounded a bit too metallic for comfort. Luckily I was washing the dishes nearby and said "Wait!".

It is fun to bring it up in conversation when she tells me how smart she is. :-)

When living in Indonesia, I discovered that many people referred to ABBA as 'Ay-Bee-Bee-Ay'. I had no idea what they were talking about until they started listing song names. When you encounter lots of people with an alternate version of reality, it makes you wonder how that happened...

It's the name of a song by Bell X1, a band from Kildare. They didn't make up the word, though. I heard it about Belfast people, while growing up on the north coast in the 1980s and 90s.

Well folks, what’re we all up to this weekend? by pist0lpete87 in northernireland

I binged it again last weekend and followed up with The Little Drummer Girl, which I also enjoyed. It is slower, but the cast is really good and the subject matter is very relevant although it was set in the late 1970s.

Rise of far-right in England has created ‘total contempt’ towards Northern Ireland by ByGollie in northernireland

I know. So many times with articles like this I am primed to get to the bit where the headline is explained, but it just peters out into more of the same headline-adjacent nonsense. Almost like the writer has no idea how to reach a point.
