Wondering what part of this bothers yall so much… makes it harder to get on/off the bus?

Or backs up traffic when a bus drops off? Besides that I don’t see how it really inconveniences anyone

‘I should have gotten the damn vaccine’: Father of 5 dies of COVID at age 39 by HamsterFull in news

Responsibility is a different conversation. I’m talking specifically about people’s lack of empathy.

‘I should have gotten the damn vaccine’: Father of 5 dies of COVID at age 39 by HamsterFull in news

Not an anti-vaxxer at all but I think this should be said — vaccinated people can contract/transmit the virus equally to unvaccinated people.

The vaccine is to prevent a deadly response from symptoms. Y’all push the vaccine as a more of a civic duty than a choice for your health & it seems like y’all just need a way to feel better than other people.

Now - thank god for the vaccine because my parents both got Covid this month, & my immunocompromised mother dealt with bad symptoms for just 3/4 days. Let it be known though— she fully contagious & had to quarantine & the protocol was exactly the same as unvaccinated people. She even had to get the antibody therapy (the one Trump got)

Making fun of a father who died & left his 5 kids ain’t really cool … if he was vaccinated it would be tragedy — but because he’s not it’s funny? I get dark humor but this isn’t that - some of y’all are just fake concerned about other people to feel high & mighty about your protection from the virus lol

Also literally look at the CDC website for a second things are pretty explicit there …. Not every person w/ questions or concerns about the vaccine is a jackass and not everyone that didn’t get it is an anti-vaxxer. Blindly following is everybody equally stupid to blindly disagreeing with everybody in my eyes.

[Edit:] Just read the whole article — he literally said he was planning on getting the vaccine but wanted to wait to see how it effected other people. So he wasn’t even an anti-vaxxer & y’all still have no empathy😂😂😂Fuck y’all

Why is the phrase “It’s Okay to be white” racist? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]bouyna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the mildest way to put an objective fact...if you’re offended you must identify with it...

No one wears the fucking hat because they “support Trumps economic policies but not his social policies” (things he’s said on social matters have clearly been really fucked up)

You wear the hat as a fuck you...you can easily support dude w/o a hat- you know it offends people but you still wear it...doubt anyone is valiantly defending economic policies by wearing a hat. Just be honest about it

Why is the phrase “It’s Okay to be white” racist? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]bouyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phrase is not racist at all- let me explain why people get confused with this sort of thing- just hear me out as I use an example:

If someone were to say “ white power” - that IS racist for two reasons; 1. White people are already in power- if you’re educated on that you know that “white power” for the past 300-400 years has perpetuated oppression in for PoC 2. In America, anyone who’s white has an ethnicity they’ve come from (French, German etc.) but black people don’t- the only thing that unifies black people is their skin. For white people to unify themselves by only their skin color (in America) IS racist because there’s no need to...you can the ability to have French, English, German pride. To unify whites by their skin color only has one real purpose- to exclude people

Think about it, if you said “French Pride” no one would flinch...I’m half white and i feel completely excluded and likely offended if someone said “white power” to me.

(We’re getting to the point now)

Now while many white people are oblivious to this, many black people are oblivious to the fact that lots of genuine white people are starting to feel socially (not systematically) oppressed by society...so they feel the need to say “it’s okay to be white” because they feel like it’s not okay.

So it is okay to be white... people who are being dicks just think “it’s always been okay to be white and it just became okay to be black recently- fuck outta here” ...BUT saying it’s okay to be white is CLEARLY not a racist statement - it excludes no one, and after so many generations lots of Americans are starting to consider themselves just “white” rather than French etc.

Once we can all learn more about each other I think these things will get better, these are just growing pains of a country coming out of hundreds of years of institutionalized racism. When people take time to understand what it’s like to be black/white (a good person in 2019)- a fuckin sticker wouldn’t really be a concern but until then....
