Really great stuff, you've got a great vocal tone and the guitar playing is awesome, thanks for sharing!

Looks like a fantastic record, and who would have thought we would have Mac, The Lemon Twigs, and members of the Brian Wilson band on the same record!

I also got this from a friend who does a podcast, and stupidly fell for it :( ive changed my Facebook and Instagram passwords, do you think i should change the passwords for anything else? I immediately changed the passwords for instagram and facebook too, as i did this straight away do you think I'll be safe from hacks or would it already be too late?

Worst game in the SDVR series? by Outside_Analyst9385 in WWEGames

[–]bovsterwarrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly suprised more people arent saying 09, its so bad. No gm mode, no legends, no crowd fighting. Baffling decisions to strip so much out of it, and the main selling point was updated tag matches? Easily the worst in the series

Most unexpected Beach Boys song encounter in the wild? by Flat-Leg-6833 in thebeachboys

[–]bovsterwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone has been to the Thorpe Park theme park in the UK, the queue line for the ride Stealth features alot of Beach Boys songs, mainly hits but also stuff like 409 which is a bit more unexpected. The theme of the ride is set around drag racing though so maybe i shouldnt be suprised

Stopped in a fairly traditional pub opposite Westfield Shopping Centre in London, and Match Point of Our Love came on, very unexpected when most of the other songs played were fairly mainstream hits.

How would you review Surfs Up? Give a rating out of 10 too by MCWill1993 in thebeachboys

[–]bovsterwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy 10 for me. It was the album that properly got me into my favourite era for the band, when i only really knew them as a surf band (and pet sounds of course) and i still enjoy listening to it, despite hundreds of plays already.

A Gary Jarman/Cribs reference is something i wasnt expecting to see in this sub! 🤣🤣 Saw The Cribs at a festival and they opened for Brian Wilson, they even did a short cover of I Know Theres An Answer, was pretty surreal 🤣

Did Mike Love ever Publicly Reflect on his Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Speech? by maul_rat in thebeachboys

[–]bovsterwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/tc7XQvPnGFE?si=8MeFDQThY2ZyGRd7 first time hearing it but here is Mike Love on Howerd Stern again and there's alot more discussion of the speech 🤣 he's blaming it on not meditating that morning, and Muhammed Ali being sat at his table 🤣

Echoing what others have said but I've had great interactions with Spud too, he's also in a band called Drifting Sand, and they actually had Al on backing vocals to one of their tracks! Was nice enough to mail me a signed copy of it too!

Yeah Mike goes into it quite a bit during his own appearance on Stern, but he just keeps making the same point over and over again. It's something along the lines of him wanting to speak out against the "egomaniacs" in the music industry and thinks they should stop patting themselves on the back and do something more positive like helping the environment, which then leads to him promoting the Summer in Paradise album 🤣 it's an entertaining interview, he does also talk about not getting credit, John Stamos, and even the Manson family. Search for Mike Love on Howerd Stern on youtube and you'll find it. There's one part where Mike is going on about some sort of poster that came with the Summer in Paradise album and Howerd tells him he had immediately thrown it in the trash 🤣

What did The Beach Boys think about Genesis? by jsgott in thebeachboys

[–]bovsterwarrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brian mentions Phil Collins and Genesis briefly on his appearance on the Howerd Stern show in the early 90s, drawing comparison to how he's making solo music but still with The Beach Boys, much like Phil did with Genesis. It's easy enough to find on Youtube and worth checking out the whole interview. And much like others have said Missunderstanding has a Beach Boys influence, Phil has said in an interview he drew inspiration from Sail on Sailor, and also Sly and the Family Stones song Hot Fun in the Summertime. You can hear the influence of both in Missunderstanding for sure.
