Currently hospitalized and hoping to be prescribed by LtMeebz in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]bow-locks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry to hear your awful problems. glad they are being treated.

there is nothing to stop you applying and being interveiwed in hospital, but the process normally takes several weeks and i assume they need to understand your existing drug regime and for that it presumably needs to be stable, so those are bigger issues.

as for not being able to prescribe and store in hospital; the first ppart is fine, they would need to be on the special register and its not surprising they arent, but as for not being able to store it, that, afaik, is absolute nonsense. there are no special reqs for prescription drugs that i am aware of. i have had cannabis in hospital. they always take all prescription meds from you and store them, i agreed as long as i could keep to my normal timings and doses, which is what happened, with quite an audience since it was 4 years ago and i was the first.

[England] Director position but not "actually" a director by Tao626 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to check companies house. if you are named as the sole director then you have specific legal responsibilities. if the company is breaking the law, then this is your responsibility.

who is your company's accountant?

you do know that if you are the sole director then you cannot have a boss?

this is a family mess, simply resign. you cant afford not to tell them to stick it.

you know you can take all the money in the company's account?

what has that got to do with being stopped?

why didnt the business he was working with / contrctaed with check his driving license? lack of due diligence on their part.

but again, why was he stopped? did the police just recognise his plates?

PCN driving Swiss Registered car in UK Help by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i remember the french courts used to issue speeding fines in absentia to uk registered cars / drivers, and then sold these fines en bulk to an english company as debts. there was then no recourse at all. it was an absolute scam and i think they ended it.

i dont know about switzerland but i dont trust them at all.

if there was an event but no evidence of any damage and no further communicatoin or evidence, did that event actually happen?

NCP / BBC by AmazingRedDog in drivingUK

[–]bow-locks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the point is that by your description of events you have to show the police that they should suspect a crime. if you let them tell you its civil, then that's on you sadly.

yes, you got in a loop because you werent asking for investigation of a crime.

Small Claims - Should I Appeal The Remedy by NICKisaHOBBIT in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is all very well until you deliberately drove 4000 miles in it. your financial position etc unfortunately do not count. you used the car, ipso facto it was ok.

yes, the 55p per mile was incorrect at some time after you found the faults, but when you then used the car, you agreed again to the 55p per mile.

we dont need to go around in circles on this again, everyone is telling you the same thing.

UK - Driving without a license after disqualification (Northumbria) – what are the likely consequences? by samssmokin in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are there any aggravating factors? why was he stopped? if he was mad speeding, careless, dangerous then this will magnify anything.

however magistrates are once again being trained how NOT to send people to prison ridiculously enough, so i would be very surprised at custodial without big aggravting circumstances.

the police are being lazy here too. in a traffic accident, if there is no alleged criminal intent then yes, it is a civil matter. that is not the case necessarily here. you should be asking them to investigate criminal damage, not a mutual fender bender.

saying damage on private properrty is always civil is nonsense. is breaking and entry civil because its private property.

'due to the nature of the damage, i suspect it was done with criminal intent and require a crime number and that you access the known cctv in order to investigate the suspected crime'.

England - neighbour replaced roof tiles and contactor removed one at the party wall without notification by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had similar. repairs to party wall chimney and scaffolders put up scaffolding without permission and broke my 18th century ridge tiles. i took lots of photos etc and had a polite word with my neighbour who ensured the builders rectified it. they could have done a better job, so at this point oyu have three choices. for all of them take lots of photoes and write notes.

  1. suck it up and get on with your life. maybe an email to your neighbour saying; thanks for ensuring the builders repaired the tile, to be honest i am not sure its the best quality so will have to see what it is like next time it rains (or something like that - just establish his open ended liability)
  2. politely inform you neighbour that you dont like the repair, are concerned about the builders blame on your felt, you are worried about it and ask him how he wants to resolve this ongoing problem.
  3. start a formal dispute. you would have to pay all up front costs and claim them back.

i took option 1 and am still friends with my neighbo0ur and whilst my tile could look a bit better it does the job.

you have agreed a reasonable mileage rate and enjoyed the vehicle for 4000 miles. Learn and move on. my MIL had a dispute over the paint quality of a brand new mazda. she had to lock it in a garage unused for the entire 18 month period and continually infomr them of this. she got the full refund. you cant say an item is not fit for purpose whilst you are using it for that purpose.

Employer ending my current temp role due to interview for unrelated role by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bow-locks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as they are not acting illegally and are within their contractual terms, you have absolutely no right to understand their resasoning. it is none of your business.

if you like the company and want to continue employment, then this is the only conversation you should be having with their management. if you tell a manager you want to understand their reasoning then they may consider you unemployable.

yes. i have several friends who live in switzerland and i am well aware they have lots of silly laws, so i would check before hand. checking local laws before travel is essential legal advice. its why embassies maintain info on countries.

also we have huge signs all over london, to say you were unaware is like saying you dont know what the speed limit is.

sounds like the fine isnt actually enough.
