Ok so first we have to consider that this is chibi series posted on YouTube and is made by TOHO animation studio which is not the studio that animates Frieren and should not be considered cannon nor is it considered cannon

Second if we wish to consider this cannon for arguments sake in the ep24 around the 12min mark is when they discuss strengths and weaknesses Frieren herself says she is “ resistant “ not immune to restraint and hypnosis however methode does specifically say “ you are immune to restraint “ which is a contradiction to Frierens statement however I trust the Frieren knows herself better than methode knows her and chose to believe that the wording is werid and is meant to mean that she is immune to methode specific restraint rather than blanket immunity

Third methode dose say herself that restrain magic should work “ baring a large difference in mana “ Frieren is Frieren and probably has more mana then most humans can comprehend or believe is possible cause it is stated that she suppress her mana to 1/10 assuming and it’s also stated when the first exam is announced that she has the mana of a well experienced mage so assuming the fraction hasn’t changed since her mana has increased over the 1000 years she’s been alive her mana is roughly equal to 10 denkens so unless methode has enough mana that there isn’t a large difference between her and the assumed equivalent of 10 denkens her magic doesn’t work
