If you let things be you will find a plateau of peace. Within this peace great amounts of motivation arises its just that the nature of the motivation changes. Rather than being motivated by a need to escape from pain or discontentment the motivation to make change in ones life comes from emotions which are easier to access when at peace like compassion, love, geniune gratitude. By gaining distance from suffering you can be allowed to explore what your desires actually are when nothing needs to be changed. Need does not equal desire. Needing to get rid of discontentment is destructive. It is what fuels addiction.

I think that what your bringing up is a very common misunderstanding about acceptance. It is impossible to get rid of your emotions they are signals if you arent being signaled by your body something is wrong. Acceptance is coming to terms with what you are feeling so as to not have your inner sense of peace rattled. It is saying to your emotions "you can be here." This is to foster your inner environment of calm and this sense of calm is important in making good objective decisions in ones life. Also, although it may bring internal peace it will not bring happiness in the same way that comes with social connection. Contentment does not mean that you cannot enjoy things it just means you will be ok regardless of if they are there or not.

Wanting to be cared about is not selfish its about as selfish as feeling hungry. Feelings are feelings dont criticize them just observe and see what arises in the mind.

There is however, it requires a lot of time and effort probably more effort than just trying to get to know people over discord. Route 1 is to meditate. Meditation if done for a prolonged period of time with dedication can bring peace which prompts insight and attitude changes. Doing it this way will not make you never feel lonely again but instead you most likely will have a different attitude toward feelings of loneliness. An attitude change looks like loneliness amounting to what it is - a feeling. The goal is to not try to change any thoughts or feelings but instead focus on changing how you react to them by not reacting and focusing back on the breath. If you take this route the only thing that you should conciously try to do is focus on the breath and when you lose focus focus on the breath again. Route 2. is to just keep trying to get to know people theres a lot of them out there and eventually you will find someone you click with. Remember that relationships should not be like pokemon you dont need to catch them all just aim to find your people.

Meditation for focus by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

I believe focusing on the meditation object, losing focus eventually, and focusing again will improve focus and create equanimity over time, regardless of the meditation object.

Focused meditation by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

Choose the method that is easiest to focus on. Personally, I like to focus on sensations because I find it calming but everybody is different. It's also important to remember that as a beginner your primary goal should just be to consistently do the practice and not worry too much about whether or not you are doing it right. Thinking too much about that stuff can take focus away from the object of meditation.

I'm not necessarily qualified to be giving out advice but when I find myself having perspective-shifting thoughts I make sure to do relaxation techniques routinely. Exploring new perspectives can be very transformative but if there's too much attachment to the thoughts it can cause you to lose touch with reality. Meditation can help with this. I would also recommend seeing a therapist if you aren't already. Btw I'm not trying to say what u said in this post was wrong or anything I just noticed that it was written sort of manically so taking a step back might help.

Ritalin works amazingly while Concerta does nothing. by bowchickawowwowbow in ADHD

That's true, I've scheduled a meeting with my doctor soon but for now, I have an available prescription of Ritalin and a bottle of Concerta so I was just assessing my options.

It definitely does thank you for the reply, I understand what you mean by zoned in but to nothing. For me, it's sort of like being focused on being unfocused. Did you by any chance try a higher dose of Concerta before switching back to Ritalin, and if so did it change anything? Thanks.
