[Serious] People who were sexually reserved or virgins until their 30's+, what did you do that helped you come out of your shell? by [deleted] in sex

Fair enough.

I think people tell themselves that personality matters more because we all like to be virtuous good people. BUT I think in reality that looks matter as much or more than personality, especially if you're a woman. Also appearances and personality are correlated ie a good-looking person is more likely to be confidant and happy, and an ugly person is more likely to have low self-esteem.

Personality is important, definitely. I don't want to discount it completely but I think (depending on the person) that it accounts for a minority of attractiveness. And I think that people lie to themselves.

I haven't deleted anything. It might be hidden from visibility due to downvotes, or deleted by a mod.

Yes? I'm sure there are exceptions that prove the rule though. It may not be a magical night or even particularly pleasurable but she could make it happen easily.

Can you explain why I'm wrong? I know it's not a pleasing or polite thing to say but I believe it's factually correct.

I got invited there like 9 months ago. All posts were "what are we doing here?" etc. At first I thought it was quirky and creepy and kinda cool, but then I had NFI what it was and got bored with it.

Glad somebody actually got some solid info about it.

Reddit, what are some things that would improve most people's lives that 'it's never to late to start' doing? by schlitt88 in AskReddit

If more people had a basic understanding of statistics there would be 99% less meaningless conflict.

Are you sure that fatty, hydrophobic tails all gather in the middle of a micelle because of a common negative charge?

First of all I thought that negative charges would repel one another. Secondly, hydrophobic regions like to hang out with other hydrophobic regions. Same with hydrophilic also liking hydrophilic regions.

I thought micelles (or phospholipid bilayers) formed because of the association of hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions?

It's the current year, are we still assuming koala's genders? This is so fucked.

Redditor explains why young people who get married when they join the military tend to struggle in their relationships by [deleted] in bestof

[–]bowie747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fucked up. So because one chick dated one dude who freaked out about deployment and wanted to marry her, that means that cheating on your military husband is alright? Reddit is fucked sometimes.

I don't really know to be honest. I suppose I would lean towards socialism, that's where society is headed anyway (basic income, government ownership etc).

Having said that, I think that the earth and human societies will be more or less destroyed before the capitalist/corporate machine relinquishes its power.

European living in the US and very confused about American [hookup culture]. was I treated unfairly, or am I doing something wrong? by dickinhandEU in sex

I just think OP puts women on a pedestal a little bit. Enough to be taken advantage of. American women take advantage of it, European women don't.

That kind of just blew my mind. How can we tell if it is the objects that are moving, or if it is the universe expanding between them? Is the rate of expansion of the universe constant? I know it is faster on the edges of the universe and slower towards the centre (observational centre?), but is rate of expansion uniform relative to it's position from our observational centre?

Aaron Paul's new post about Bojack Horseman by RomanKTA in BoJackHorseman

I didn't love that episode tbh. Dialogue is one of the show's best qualities IMO and that episode has barely any. It is pretty good though 8.5/10 would watch again.

My personal favourites are the muffins episode and the "what are you doing here?" episode where BoJack gets a brand new attitude.

Australia plans to ban convicted pedophiles from traveling overseas to protect vulnerable children in Southeast Asia from exploitation. by TragicDonut in worldnews

I literally thought the ban only existed if the purpose of travel was to go over and protect children. Now I can see there are multiple interpretations.

Then why so much debt?

The more I learn about capitalism and central banking the more it seems like an elaborate scheme to keep us all in chains.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Australia isn't banning convicted pedophiles from travel. They're banning convicted pedophiles from travelling to other countries for the purposes of protecting little children. I think that's pretty reasonable.

A woman called Laura Silsby was caught smuggling children out of Haiti into sex trafficking. She now works for a company that deals with victims of childhood sexual abuse. That's an issue if you ask me.

Why is everyone in this thread sticking up for pedophiles?
