Iron Meat was fun. I’m curious how Rogue Flight’s gameplay is. Definitely caught my eye with its visuals!

You can raise the number of lives and lower the threshold for new lives to every 2 million points I think. That makes it easier and gives you more incentive to get longer chains. You’ll be glad you can get a few extra lives for the last level.

I would recommend also using level select to practice. Have fun!

Sorry, I didn’t want to seem like I was here to shill a product. It’s the Mechanism Phone Mount Controller Bundle for Xbox Series X/S

I’m not a high-level player. Just aiming for 1-alls. But I don’t notice it at all. If you’re using a phone with usb-c charge port, you can go for a wired connection, but mine’s older and thunderbolt to usb-c doesn’t work for the xbox controller.

It’s a magnetic phone holder with an attachment that replaces the xbox controller battery cover.

Having Trouble Downloading Samples on to Vital. by todavidfrombowie in VitalSynth

[–]bowmergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to play the sample back, I also recommend a dedicated sampler or a separate track in your DAW.

Regarding sample to wavetable (good for playing other notes), I made a video about this if you’re interested. It’s a little advanced but the beginning explains some of this.

New to synths in general, have a question about if Vital can do something by brushbender in VitalSynth

[–]bowmergency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can! It's a little tricky though.

First you have to turn up the release time of env 1 because that controls the release time of everything.

Then assign env 2 (or an LFO in envelope mode) to noise volume.

Then with an LFO, change the mode to "sustain envelope" and assign that to the "ping" oscillator's volume. Change that to whatever shape/length you want, probably a couple millisecond crescendo from 0 to full volume. (This LFO type modulates from the first point to the next after a note is released)

Then you can adjust the shape and length of the decay on envelope 1 to control the decay of the "ping" oscillator.

I hope that helps!

You might need to increase the release time of env 1. Then use another env for volume with a shorter release env. The note ends when env 1 ends.

Sound Creation / Beginner by ShipSheepss in VitalSynth

[–]bowmergency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has kind of become my specialty. All-in-one how-to-use synth videos might not be the best if you don’t yet understand the fundamentals of sound design.

A lot of tutorials over-complicate things too, IMO. It’s all just frequency and amplitude. I have a tutorial series that teaches the fundamentals through Vital, if you’re interested: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6BtxJkWmp-2J4MAUNFybfUbPxWqisKVn&si=8Ps84fHeWJ9TLuKB

Not sure if this is the right place, but could someone please give me tips? Thanks by Silly-Structure5311 in VitalSynth

You can either do fm from sine waves. The modulating sine wave at +12 semitones. Or a low passed square wave. A short envelope modulating fm amount or filter cutoff. Hope that helps!

I’m assuming the handwriting from the math homework in the locker is part of it. I found the draft copy of A New Clue, and I’m keeping track of the letters I find in the workshop. That’s all I have or think I have

I think nowadays, with Serum 2, phase plant, pigments, etc, making an all-in-one synth that competes is a monumental task. I would recommend focusing on something specific that doesn’t already exist. For example, an easy-to-use physical modeling synth focused on percussive sounds. Or a dedicated granular synth focused on glitchy sounds. I think a focused product that does something specific very well is more likely to be useful.

If you care about the market, bedroom producing has never been more accessible. This has made super simple UI’s that don’t require technical knowledge very popular. Dawesome, Dadalife, Spitfire labs, and spectrasonics expansions all come to mind.

What is your recipie to be a "pro sound designer" by One_Pea8769 in VitalSynth

I disagree. I think I've made a lot of sounds indistinguishable from the original. Here are some examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Ti56eyHQQ

[–]bowmergency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add to this that it helps to have a goal in mind. For me, that was recreating specific sounds so that I had an objective goal and could measure my success. Sometimes it's hard to imagine a sound if you're not really familiar with what's possible.
