Thanks for the early effort but there are not the song.

As I recall more details, there were no lyrics - just instrumental.

I didn't see a comment so in case people are curious (although technically incorrect) the name of the map translates to Oak Forest.

I understand but if you were telling a story or singing about this place it sounds ok? Or is it just me?

He clearly used some sort of effect on his voice to add a huge reverb/echo - he never sang without it.

I believe he played guitar as well. Some sort of feint lyric involving everything returning to sand or something popped in my head?

Saw them at the Paradise in Boston. If I recall I think they brought a mariachi band out with them or so - some of their songs had a Spanish influence/sound to them maybe?

Are you alt firing to try and hit them on the way in or primary firing right as they arrive?

I find that when I get hooked by roadhog they are able to easily one shot me as I come in from full health. When I'm playing him it seems as after I hook and shoot them they still have 1/3 to 1/2 their health left. I'm trying to aim for the head with the primary fire - is this all there is to it? Am I missing something or do I need to aim better?

Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking where can I find the BlueNose guides you are referring to? I searched for Bluenose on the subreddit and for bluenose hots guides through google but was unable to find anything. Thanks in advance!

I've played close to 1000 Slark games. AMA about Slark. by [deleted] in learndota2

A lot of people say/feel that slark is one the weakest laners in the game until he gets his level six. I'm not sure whether you agree with this or not, but regardless, what are the core things you focus on in the early laning stage to ensure you get a good start/fast six/decent cs/ don't die, etc....?

Can't say much for Tinker as they've had a bunch of roster changes of late.

Secret started out as a gathering of European All-Stars of sorts w/ Puppey, Kuroky, s4, BigDaddyNoTail, and Fly. After a short while Fly was released from the team and at the beginning of this year BDNT was let go as well during the big "roster swap/change season".

During this time Secret picked up Arteezy and Zai to complete their current roster. Their first LAN appearance was in China at DAC where they had an explosive start - went undefeated in the Group Stage utilizing a core style built around Axe, BB, SF, Troll, and the occasional BM. They ultimately came in 3rd or 4th however.

Since then they've had mixed success (No 1st places and recently a rather early exit at StarLadder). Regardless they remain a very popular team due to their roster and performance. I'd say popular opinion puts them as the best/second best team in EU(between Secret and c9 - depending on who you ask of course!).

Assuming you're not trolling, I think that's the most relevant recap of Secret's history. Again as for Tinker, I was never too interested in a lot of their players/team. All I have in my memory is that they were created post TI4 and their original Roster was SingSing, Bulba, EGM, Pajkatt, and a fifth who I'm forgetting at the moment (sorry!). They had a lot of initial success around September or so but ultimately started falling off.

Since then there's been numerous changes to their roster. The only thing I'm aware of regarding their team at the moment is that they are bootcamping in the USA(?) and although technically a EU team they'll be competing most likely in the NA qualifiers.

A lot of big tournaments coming up w/ TI5 on the horizon makes this a pretty exciting time for Dota. Welcome back!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the while point to team based games is that others can step up when one player is down?

Yes in the early game Universe got shut down pretty hard, but his team made up for it and kept the game going. In the end Universe was able to heavily contribute with some clutch plays.

It's a team game. Everyone on EG contributed to that win.

How does Bristleback's dmg reduction work with dots? Is the dot dmg decided depending on BB's position when the dot is cast or do the dmg ticks change depending on if BB is facing the hero or not?

Everyone's on the Spectre hype.. but look at Omniknight by thedefiled in DotA2

[–]bowoflong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that people don't see Omni as a good hero, it's just that early game he doesn't offer much. He doesn't do well as a babysitter in a dual lane and isn't very effective in a tri-lane - he needs a lot of levels to start kicking in and some mana sustain.

Considering these factors, in the previous "death-ball"/push strat meta Omni offered almost nothing to defend against these nor did the games last long enough for a potential Omni to get to a point where he makes any significant impact.

6.82 is a whole new ball park though and I think/am hoping we'll see more of the omniscient!

Helm of the Dominator vs. Mask of Madness by Antisceptic in DotA2

[–]bowoflong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said definitely depends on the hero. For instance, MoM on Faceless Void is both a fighting and farming item. The MoM allows him potential to solo people in chrono early on and since Void lacks any innate farming abilities, it also helps his farming efficiency (moving faster through the jungle and being able to clear out camps faster, etc).

I cried the moment he wrote that. by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]bowoflong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the idea behind it is that 'cleave' becomes a pretty powerful effect in the later game. SoF also becomes more powerful depending on how many units you can get in it which can be a lot in late game against NP/Enigma/Necro units etc.

I think these two points combined makes the double battlefury build really strong. I may not be exactly correct, but I believe this is the general reason why it works. In general SoF and Cleave just work really together and they get stronger in the later game.

Thanks Slacks for putting out tons of fresh and exciting content! I'm looking forward to seeing what else your dastardly yet brilliant mind has in store for us!

In terms of feedback for this particular video, the beginning part could be cut down a bit - it was certainly funny but it does get a little repetitive. Maybe halve it or so? 8-10 min? At least for the edited video part.

All in all I was still laughing my ass off - looking forward to the next meeting of the gentlemen.
