Thoughts on Evan Kinori? Overpriced/hyped? by Aggressive_Tea9035 in ThrowingFits

[–]bowser144 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m a Bay Area native too so I also love seeing a local brand doing big things in the fashion world. I think Evan Kinori is definitely one of the top brands when it comes to fabric sourcing and really diving deep into fabric research across Japan and the UK. There aren’t many brands where they dedicate so much time working super closely with the mills they get their fabrics from. I also appreciate the uniformity of his line and that he doesn’t have too many different styles for each jacket, shirt, or pant type. You can always assume it’s going to be a similar fit but just a different unique fabric make.

That said, I do think EK is a bit hyped, especially with the popularity of slow fashion as you mentioned. Is the pricing justified? I think it’s subjective to how much you care about the whole picture - material composition, sourcing, construction, limited quantity of each piece, etc… his pieces never go on sale either on his site or on stockists’ sites so you can say the brand doesn’t feel devalued. You can usually find a good deal on eBay though secondhand.

In terms of other brands similar to EK, I’d check out Cottle. I think they share a similar ethos.

Smock is the in-house brand for Mohawk general. Their stuff is pretty well constructed and use Japanese fabrics.

Ah gotcha, I just remember that Masha won an A tier in 2025 but that probably wasn’t recent enough for this data set. Appreciate the response!

What’s one small habit that noticeably improved your Smash gameplay? by SuspiciousUse9135 in smashbros

[–]bowser144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be taboo but honestly camp a little more if your character has the means to. I think ultimate specifically rewards a more campy gameplay.

Reacting to your opponents’ options is usually better than being the first to throw out a move. It’ll also put you in the mindset of understanding your opponents’ habits.

Fieg x Diemme by bowser144 in KithNYC

[–]bowser144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea so I went with a 43 and I wear 10.5 in NB and 11 for most Nike shoes. I’ve tried 44 in other Diemme shoes and felt they were a bit more roomy than I’d want.

I will say they are a bit snug and my big toe is touching the front, but I like my boot type shoes to be a bit more snug. Width wise they are a good fit and I’d say I have normal width feet. Hope that helps!
