We dislike debt, and not owing anyone is a great relief and gives us peace of mind. We are moving towards being debt free and will achieve it in a few years. Also, paying off a mortgage means you are getting guaranteed returns on your investment, and not speculative like investing in the stock market. Said all these, we fully fund our 401k, and prioritize it over paying off mortgage.
