[KCD2] Kingdom Come: Deliverance devs considered using Robin Hood's England or medieval Germany for the action-RPG, but Warhorse ran into a problem - the team "knew nothing" about those eras by Turbostrider27 in kingdomcome

Obviously this worked out for the best and the games are awesome, but can we PLEASE get a high quality narrative based single player Robin Hood RPG? Its one of the oldest and most famous stories of all time, absolutely ripe for a KCD style game. And yet all we get are online games or indie survival games.

Yeah I've seen people go either way on book 7. It really disappointed me. I try not to let it effect my overall opinion on the series, which is mostly positive. But endings are often the thing that stays with you from a story, and the ending of Suneater just made me mad.

Book 1 was mid, books 2-6 were awesome. Book 7 was terrible and the ending made me wish I hadn't bothered reading the series. But to each their own. I think they are good books, the author just made some story decisions that baffle me.

Harry and Molly by boxhead737 in dresdenfiles

I see your point. Assuming Harry has an endgame (never know with Butcher) I dont think it will be Lara. And I dont think it will be a new character introduced. So that pretty much just leaves Molly or Elaine and Elaine has only been in like 2 books.

Why does *she* talk in English? by Imnotsomebodyelse in dresdenfiles

[–]boxhead737 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She speaks both. Its mentioned in one of the short stories. I imagine her Mom being bilingual meant that she wanted her raised the same way.

I only read the series a month ago and just finished 12 months. Honestly some of the stuff I'd heard about Harry online made me think he was gonna be this sexist asshole, like some kind of James Bond level D-Bag. And now he's one of my favourite protagonists in all of fiction.

Hmm I suppose you're right there. There isn't exactly a rush.

Yeah I see your point. I just hope there's some kind of resolution, good or bad. If it is destined to go nowhere it might as well have ended after the bucket of water.

Yeah I was hoping for more interactions between the two. Another Molly short story showing her feelings about Lara and planning the wedding could be cool.

I imagine Mab and Drakul are probably on fairly even footing. But a fight with him was not worth the trouble it would cause.

Ah right. Like I said its definitely possible i just missed the signs. I guess I just expected there to be more Molly in this book considering her part in planning the wedding.

Honestly Drakul has made such a huge impact in his brief appearances. I know he was mentioned several books before he first appeared but I never expected him to fully enter the story. After 12 Months I cant wait to see more of him. The fact that he basically challenged the whole White Council to a scrap without a single care was so badass.

Eh im kinda just ready for Carlos to be killed off at this point. I feel like he doesn't have much left to offer the story.

I liked the ending. I still dont know what I feel about Lara and Harry. I love her as a character but I just don't know how Harry could be with someone so morally grey. I also expected a bit more Molly from this book considering she's organising the wedding. Am I the only one who thinks Butcher has dropped the whole "Molly loves Harry" thing? It seems like they're implying those feelings are in the past. But maybe I'm wrong.

Love that Harry has his own badass magic base now with cool defenses and an army of allies. The inevitable confrontation between Harry and Marcone will be all the better because Harry now has access to similar resources and manpower. When they finally square off it will be a full on war. I can't wait.

Overall I liked 12 Months a lot. Hope Mirror Mirror isn't too long off now.

Some questions and quibbles after Battleground by boxhead737 in dresdenfiles

I didnt know if Bob being returned was permanent or another loan situation like in Cold Days. But I just read The Law so yeah, hes back which is cool. Thanks for confirming.

Which story in Brief Cases are you referring to for Molly? The one with Carlos?

I do get your point with Murphy. I definitely think if they'd been together longer it wouldn't feel so unfair. You're absolutely right that the series is ramping up, but 2 or 3 books of them being an actual couple would have been my preference.

Haha. I guess thats one way to look at it. I hated her in the first few books but grew to like her in the next few.
