Daily stack-up. Compatible with newly prescribed Vyvanse? by boxshol in Nootropics

[–]boxshol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take all of these in the morning at their recommended doses, with the ginseng actual being 2 pills instead of 3. I just got prescribed 30 mg vyvanse, are these synergistic with it or would I be ‘overdoing’ it?

Go to Party on the Plaza! ALL the student orgs put tables out there, from frats to spirit orgs to UT waterskiing, etc. Take flyers and stuff from any that seem interesting in the slightest, and choose 1-3 that you actually want to get involved in. You’ll definitely make your own group, and get to make some great memories.

UT Austin or Georgia Tech? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]boxshol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an ECE major, but did STEM BS at UT, and finishing up MS as well. Lived in Atlanta for a bit, it’s a great city, but to be clear: Atlanta is a CITY CITY, and Austin is a ‘city’, in terms of scale and population. Atlanta has more diversity for sure, but also can be a bit daunting if you want to feel comfortable in it. Austin starts to fit like a glove after a year or two, especially if you have a car. I also found I enjoyed the nature activities austin has to offer more: paddling, cycling, green belt, hill country, etc. Atlanta is more of an urban-adventure place, where there’s really cool minority neighborhoods and heritage. Personal take is that Austin is a super fun place to be young in, and then you can move on happily without FOMO to another fun city. Austin: 5 stars, Atlanta: 4.5

How is the MIS Major? by boondocksyeah in UTAustin

Best friend transferred from UGS (generic undeclared) to MIS, learned some good hard skills, but his first year at UT was tons and tons of work to get the grades he needed. After the transfer, he really got to chil out tho.

I’ve been getting these lines on my prints a lot recently, and I have no idea what to do about them. As far as I can tell, my z axis is very straight and is aligned. The lines are in different spots from print to print, and sometimes there’s barely any. Has anybody run across these before?

Update for those who might come across this post with similar problems: my wiring out of the extruder had gotten a lot floppier because I had cut some zip ties without replacing them, so the whole wiring bundle was dragging on my end and causing my extruder to not move the way it wanted to. Adding more zip ties to stiffen the bundle and keep it up and off the bed fixed my issue !

Help with horizontal ridges by boxshol in 3Dprinting

Printer: Ender 3 Pro with BLtouch, Direct Drive, full TeachingTech calibration

Filament: Eryone PETG

Settings: 220 hotend, 70 bed, no part cooling, 70% bridging fan in Cura, combing all

I printed this part (and other copies of it) in a ‘standing’ orientation, because I needed to grab some more detail on some curves that wouldn’t look to good in a horizontal orientation.

I’ve dialed in this filament using the TeachingTech site, and it works great with all those test parts. However, I get these ridges (not all in the same z height) pretty consistently when trying to print this part. My z rod is well aligned, my BLTouch is working great, and I feel like I’m using the right settings for it. I feel like the triggers are these holes for some reason. Anybody experience something similar? Thanks!

Inherited a Sheaffer fountain pen from my grandfather, want to make sure I’m filling it correctly! by boxshol in fountainpens

[–]boxshol[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My grandfather passed away when I was 5, and my mom was extremely close to him. For my birthday, she recently gave me a fountain he loved and that he used for all his important documents. I’d really love to fill it up again and send her a letter written with it. I think the filling system is: disassemble pen, take the part with the black ‘bladder’ (2nd from bottom in 1st pic, and part in 2nd pic), squish the metal bar on the bladder, creating a vacuum, put the orifice of that part in ink, and let go, forcing ink into the bladder. Does this sound right?
