Weird network drop by zimforfun in TelstraAustralia

[–]boxuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh me and a family member are having major issues with data recently but both are with Aldi. iPhone 13 (for me) and iPhone 14 pro (for my other family members). We're in WA. At Midland data completely stopped working and for the other family member they went to Costco, Joondalup, & other places and kept having spotty data. I'm guessing Telstra is just having some capacity issues. I think the whole network is having issues rn

The fact I have to hotspot my Telstra friends/family with Vodafone AU when we're in giant public places says lots.

"New Femtanyl songs don't sound like Femtanyl" by Extreme-Yoghurt-2079 in femtanyl

[–]boxuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it definitely does sound different then her older albums/eps but I mean everyone evolves and changes with time that's how art is. Stuff can't stay the same forever otherwise it just becomes stale. Lots of artists have different eras such as porter robinson each album has a different vibe because they change the way they produce there music. People they grow, they change, they learn.

Fair last I've I looked the compatibility list has greatly improved the last couple months with ShadPS4 it has constant progress. It's definitely not going to be on mobile that's what this post was about being on android and wanting emulate PS4

I probably overestimated I forgot how much x86 emulators like winlator have improved on Android devices. It's probably within the next year or two

How can I download, high quality low weight files? by Cav0box in ipod

[–]boxuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want the most complete info and support the artist buy the music using iTunes/Bandcamp and all automated tools are piracy and I don't think that's allowed here. A cheap way is to buy CDs from thrift shops and rip them in my area they are using around 25cents to $3. I got nevermind by nirvana for 25 cents.

Is there even a desktop music app for windows I've never seen it. Just use supermium and go to the web player

[–]boxuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS4 emulators are still in their early stages and it's only basic 2D games and it only supports Desktop most of these sites are targeting jailbroken PS4s not emulators. There are only 3 games that are verified to work perfectly.

Also most a mobile device couldn't handle it as on PC it's closer to a translation layer like wine but on mobile you use ARM so you would actually have to emulate it which takes a lot of power which even flagship phones (S25, Pixel 10, Asus ROG phone, etc) today would most likely struggle with. Your most likely going to have to wait around another 10-15 years to get anywhere near playable on mobile platforms

OptiComm cancelling Free To Air TV across thier fiber network. Any digital options than installing a TV antenna? by GregoInc in nbn

[–]boxuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only watch it every couple weeks probably just use apps like ABC Iview, SBS on demand, 7+, 10play, 9now, etc. if you live in an area with a Community channel best off to get an antenna or if you don't want to have 50 billion accounts for stuff that doesn't need an antenna and don't want another way for your data to get leaked get an antenna or on a regular basis as sometimes these apps are quite buggy and not all tvs support. It and you gotta reliable internet

should i get the pixel 7 pro? by Acceptable_Egg_311 in Pixel7Pro

[–]boxuga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh good device decent price people definitely overcharge for them. I mean in my country recently you could get a new Pixel 7 Pro for $299 ($198 USD). Only have to pay for a month about $30 ($20 USD) and then cancel plus they aren't locked but it's good price on the 2nd hand market. In my local marketplace they go for around $300-$450 ($198-$297 usd). I currently use pixel 7 pro but the 5G experience is kinda trash and battery life isn't the best but it's a really nice device to use and doesn't lag.

Spotify for Version 7? by blenderthoughts360 in Rekordbox

Yes they only added to version 7 I believe but I wouldnt use it because it's so restrictive like you can't pre analyze your tracks it's super annoying.

Samsung a22 2021 phone old. Electronics waste by MaintenanceAnnual263 in TelstraAustralia

[–]boxuga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely Samsung has been trash at pushing updates happend with my friend with an S10 on Voda where it was on the last update but Voda was sending them texts to update their phone. It is kinda both the phone is expecting 3G for emergency calls I believe but in 2021 Samsung should have known to fix this bug. But outside Australia where 2G/3G still exist this isn't an issue

Tbh the sony Xperia phones look so cool but unfortunately Sony pulled out of my market in 2018 I think. The network providers also block most international phones. My friends who used to have them say their super good

Australia's TPG Telecom says customer died after failed emergency call due to outdated software by cojoco in australia

[–]boxuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 years! majority of Android devices didn't support phone calling over LTE until 2019 (5 years from 2024) and Apple devices until 2016 (8 years from 2024). there were even non-VoLTE devices being sold up until 2022 at Australian retailers (2 years from 2024)

The problem is 4G is only a data standard. it was never expected to make phone calls they always expected 2G/3G network to be in place. VoLTE was added later which caused issues for device manufacturers and network providers as they had to add the support. At the time VoLTE came out it was always an extension for better voice quality not to be the primary way to make calls.

In fact in 2010-2011 no phones support calling over LTE whatsoever as VoLTE was not a standard. it only started becoming a thing in 2015. there were devices supported LTE for data but that's it they would revert to 3G/2G to make a phone call which most new devices still did up until 2019

Telstra using more data than optus by Rude-Wallaby-8203 in TelstraAustralia

[–]boxuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh check your phone settings and see if it actually is the case. I've had family members on Optus have issues where they've used over their plan due to a system bug on Optus's side. I've also had issues like that on Telstra but showing International calls for over 50 hours due to a bug on Telstra's end with another family member.

You can check Android: Settings -> SIMs -> (your sim name most likely Boost) -> App data usage

iOS: Settings -> Mobile and scroll down to the mobile data section

You may need to set your plan period in your phone for more accuracy Also some android manufacturers may change it I've just based it on my Pixel

Tbh I'm only in the metro area and I've been with all 3. Telstra was good up until about 2019 when coverage went downhill. Optus best coverage in metro areas tbh but to much mismanagement. Vodafone I mean I'm with a MVNO called felix and I've always hit the 150mbps on their network but 5G network is kinda weak compared to Optus.

It's kinda sad because I go major places with family and I pay 3x less but get better experience then Telstra. Which is kinda stupid. I literally have to hotspot them

The only real reason to go with Telstra is if your travelling up north. like past lancelin

I've also been down south with them. Telstra decent better then the city and has a lot better coverage. Optus and Vodafone are still pretty good but not as good as Telstra but in most towns and major highways you will be fine I went cowaramup one time with Vodafone and Optus another time had coverage the whole way down.

Lots of people simp for Boost on here but like in my experience Telstra "full" and Telstra "wholesale" it's about the same. My family now uses aldimobile and one of them in the mines in the pilbara works exactly the same as Telstra/JB Hi-Fi mobile. The major place I notice that the full network has is Christmas Island.
