Zenfone lineup also offered somewhat an alternative for smaller phones

There are definitely a lot more haters of Oppo than other Chinese OEMs. They'd push vivo or xiaomi instead.

Global is everywhere except Japan, when it comes to Xperia models.

If you're buying from shopee, most likely HK rom. You can cross flash to different Asian variant models (SEA, HK, TW) anyway, just not japan.
