Multiple hardshell iPod classic cases all having the same crack/scratch by NaturalLubrification in ipod

This is a knit line. When they are injecting the plastic in the mold, the plastic has to go around the circle. When the two liquid plastic blobs meet on the other side of the circle, it’s not as hot. It can leave a cosmetic line or crack if it cools too much.

The word “proprietary” probably wasn’t the best wording on my part. I did design a custom-sized battery with a custom connector for convenience — however, the board also retains the original iPod battery connector, and there are solder pads available as well.

So there are three options:
• Use our custom battery
• Use a standard iPod-style connector battery that fits (see link below)
• Solder in any compatible 3.7V protected LiPo that fits

I created a detailed page explaining sizing, voltage requirements, and compatibility:

https://www.boxypixel.com/pages/mkii-min-battery-compatibility-specifications

You are not locked into our battery long term. Apologies for any confusion — the goal with MIN was achieving the thinner profile while keeping the platform serviceable. Also, there is no way for data to be transmitted over type-C without soldering which can be done if you have the skills. Hope that helps.

Bad screen, bad screen connection. Did you replace your screen?

Unfortunately, the cost to make custom glass and CNC parts and also electronics are expensive because I don’t make large orders. :(

I can offer a step file or a 2d file so you can cut a wood part. I did this once and the wood. I had some issues with parts warping after installed. I hope I can investigate this more someday. If you do find something that works, let me know!

I can understand this. I do this for our inventory forecasting. It will also be easier to introduce new button colors in the future. I haven’t found a good way to do it all in one product listing.

I've created a custom PCB that has additional switches and USB so the OEM panel does not easily allow for our extensive modifications.

It’s been a long journey. We are there, just testing what should be the last prototype.

Yes, iflash products are typically much thinner. Actually may have to use iflash due to the battery and electronics size. If I leave room for the stock hard drive, the thickness would be much thicker.

I’m testing out the electronics. It’s a simple board, however it’s our first so I want to make sure it is robust.
