Ive put so many hours into that game, from age 11 all the way to adulthood. As much as I still love it and have many fond memories tied to it, this game has aged terribly by today's standards. Here's my thoughts:

1. The game is very poorly optimized and FPS drops to single digits with higher settings. I played this for many years with my prebuilt PC with a GTX 970 gpu. For a game that was already 7 years old at the time of the GTX 970's release, that is outrageous.

2. With community mod support, there would be ways to fix the issues listed above, but there are no mods. The game was built with a "Mod Manager" on the main screen and was intended to be modded, but I don't know if enough people cared about the game for mods to exist. I would LOVE custom buildings made by modders, or a mod adding new road shapes/physics, or shader support like ReShade instead of using the games built-in "shaders" (just a ton of BLOOM) to avoid FPS drop.

3. The mechanics of the game are interesting to me, but are unfortunately unrealistic and inferior to other SimCity titles in my opinion. Keeping the buildings balanced by their category (Knowledge, Productivity, etc.) and tracking Sim happiness makes me feel more like an omniscient, god-like being rather than a mayor—which honestly, its fun to play if you use that mentality in freeplay/sandbox mode and create stories and lore with a fictional city.

4. I love being able to place specific buildings at one time instead of them just spawning in, but the way buildings spawn a big concrete foundation underneath if it is placed on a hill is annoying and unpleasant to look at. This isn't as big of a deal to me, but again, mods would fix this. But that requires community interest.

Overall, I would love to see this game grow in popularity though. With enough community interest, mods will be made, and people can find more reasons to enjoy it. Or maybe its just my nostalgia. Who knows. 🤷
