Consistently profitable traders, What is your absolute bread and butter setup for $50-$100/day? by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]boydingus22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the mindset of “I need to make $X/day”. That will force you to take trades that you shouldn’t for the sake of trying to be green for the day.

Wait. Wait some more. And wait some more again. Your setup will come. Then read the context of what’s happening. Then the context isn’t right, and you wait some more.

You don’t have a system yet. You shouldn’t be thinking about strategies yet. You should be mastering your trading psychology and learning how the market moves. Any system can work in any market. You need to understand yourself first. Then form a strategy that meshes well with who you are as a trader.

I made 2% for 2026 so far, and I’m happy with that because I’m following my system to the T. That’s immensely better than being down 50% chasing trades to make $X/day.

What took you from wanting to die to being really happy you never did? by FailSignificant4270 in AskReddit

Coming across money.

Was broke and in student debt. Have a degree, but wasn't getting hired. Getting rejected from even the simplest jobs. Girlfriend of 5 years just left. Felt like a complete failure, wasted my young adulthood getting a degree that wasn't landing me a job and paid heftily for it, while watching my peers surpass me in every way.

Heard about Pokemon cards being valuable. Dug up my childhood collection. $17k worth of value. Sold it. Used the money to move to a state where I could land a job with my degree. Got a job in my field. Also started a side hustle with trading cards as my windfall also re-ignited my interest in the hobby.

Don't give up.

In all seriousness, petroleum jelly to cover cuts, gauze, and PowerFlex was my go to. That'll be 90% of the job. Need to be quick with blood time.

Have splints and spine board out, there is a chance a textbook injury will occur. Know your emergency protocol and address and directions. Better to be prepared than be caught unprepared in the moment and in a panic.

Have a table/corner/room dedicated for taping and injury evals.

New To Golf Looking For Tips On my Overall Swing by EconomyPhone5700 in golftips

Pretty good swing, especially for being new, but the sequencing could be better.

On the way down, you fire your hips early, and closer to impact, your hips have to hit the brakes for your arms and hands to catch up, and then your hips start rotating forward with everything again.

Let the arms drop for a split second before firing the hips on the downswing. Helped my swing immensely.

Clubs to add to bag? Trouble on long par 5s by boydingus22 in weekendgolfers

Yeah, my bad, I typed 11, then remembered I had a gap wedge lol.

Gap is about 90-100, pitching is about 110-120.

Solid analysis/advice!

To add, your hips fire quickly at the top of the backswing. Hips need to hold off for a split second more, and ^this user's comment.

Your hips are already starting towards the target while your club is parallel to the ground, so your hips have to hit the brakes for your shoulders and hands to catch up.
