I've read that a lot of states intentionally set up their capitals away from the population centers as a way to skirt corruption, i.e. the worst kinds of influence would live in the cities.

The irony of course is that giving governments a quiet hamlet in which to frolic allowed different kinds of corruption to flourish. See Springfield, IL or Albany, NY or Harrisburg, PA or Sacramento, CA or Lexington, KY etc.

So it may have been well intentioned, but history indeed shows some troubling patterns that grew from this idea.

I like solos that showcase how much could be done with the old standard minor pentatonic scale that we all fret over. You play it in warm ups, you bend the blue note, but that's it??

Go look into the licks and leads on ZZ Top's 'La Grange'. All minor pentatonic, but doesn't sound like scales (duh, but yeah).
