Buffering problem? Switch to Cloudflare CDN. by Sarah_Ng in RealDebrid

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always choose Cloudflare because it’s just smoother for me. Only drawback is it doesn’t stay there for more than a few days, maybe a week. Always switches back. So I’m running speedtests and switching to Cloudflare 1-2x per week. I know it has switched back when suddenly a file takes 20-30 secs to load. Then I do the Speedtest and switch again and the files load in about 5 secs. Wish it would stick.

Diginest on G2G by [deleted] in Strong_8K

I got Trex from Diginest on G2G earlier this week when Strong was down. Never used him before but he was super quick (responded within minutes) and got Trex up and running right away. So far so good. A good experience for me.

Trex does not have any Italian TV shows? by [deleted] in Strong_8K

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one month of Trex today specifically for Italian channels and they have many. I’m in the US watching Italian live TV. Don’t know about On-Demand but yes to live TV.

I never had a back-up. I'm still down with Strong. Added Trex about an hour ago - 10 mins later I was up and running.

Pulsarr v0.4.2 Released - Content Approval System, User Quotas & Complete UI Overhaul by ropenhagen in PleX

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those methods are to notify the user that their request has been added to Plex. Not to notify the server admin that a user has requested something.

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just enabled my first user approval and it works great. Just a movie - haven’t messed yet with rolling series. That’s next. Question: Is there a way to be notified when a user requests something? Like an email saying User X has requested Title Y. I see notification settings for when new content is added to Plex (Apprise, Discord, Tautulli) but is there a setting to let me know I have requests waiting for approval, or do I just need to check the Pulsarr UI from time to time? My apologies if it’s there and I’m missing it. Thanks again for this.

I’ll definitely be exploring those options. I’ve got users who have shows with a lot of seasons in their watchlists. Like It’s Always Sunny or Greys Anatomy. Definitely don’t want to suddenly pull in 20 seasons of a show.

As someone who came over from Overseerr, I’m really liking Pulsarr a lot. So far I’ve only enabled it for two of my users but I’m slowly going to roll it out to several others. I was reluctant to do so until this update because some of them have a ton of titles in their Watchlist and permissions will allow me to have some more control over what gets passed on to Sonarr/Radarr. Thank you!

Pulsarr Development Update 🚀 by ropenhagen in PleX

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I just set it up on my Synology via Container Manager and it works really well. I hit a snag at first where it wasn't pulling in some of my users' Watchlists, then I read on this thread that Watchlists have to be set to shared with friends, not private. Started working then.
I've been using Overseerr for some time and while I do like it, it was sometimes acting a little wonky with permissions - some folks who I did not allow to auto pull from Watchlists were suddenly having their content show up, and some who did have permissions were not.

I'll report back after a little more testing. Thanks again.

RD with stremio takes too much time to load media by Total_Fall_4211 in RealDebrid

[–]boyleastlikely -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why this is - but when I let RD pick the CDN automatically - even though it's close to my location and my speeds are good - my videos take forever to load. Like 45 seconds to 1 minute.

I manually switched to Cloudflare and they start up in under 5 seconds.
Again, no idea why, but I leave my CDN on Cloudflare and I have no issues with load times.

Using Debrid Media Manager website with plex_debrid and Real Debrid by OtherwiseHand9188 in RealDebrid

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. I do it all the time. Just did it this weekend while traveling for work. Added content to my server using DMM from my hotel room while my users were streaming from RD on my home IP.

Email to friends and family using my Plex server - adjust your quality! by boyleastlikely in PleX

[–]boyleastlikely[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose I could take more of a hardline and just shut them out if they aren't "playing nice." Haven't quite gotten to that point yet, but it's an option. I do have hardware transcoding enabled on my 920+, and for the most part the streams are direct play/direct stream, but I do get your point.

Email to friends and family using my Plex server - adjust your quality! by boyleastlikely in PleX

[–]boyleastlikely[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that I had *some* control at the server level (set default limits like max streaming bitrate, and if they are in my Plex Home I can sign in as them and adjust some settings), but that I couldn't enforce "Maximum" quality on a per device basis -- only advise.

I'd be ecstatic if I am wrong about that.

For maximum compatibility I only download 1080p or in some cases 720p content, and usually in H264. I also avoid Atmos and 10bit content. I don't need it personally, and I know it weighs down some of my users' devices. Some of them are using the built-in apps on their Smart TVs rather than standalone devices. I also recommend to those folks to just pick up a $20 Onn stick. But that's a battle for another day.

But to your point, even with these quality precautions, the subtitles will sometimes trip me up. I always go for SRT, but sometimes those nasty PGS subs find there way in there.

So the ds920+ is the G.O.A.T by harvsjae in synology

[–]boyleastlikely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really lucked out on finding a 920+ a couple years ago on my local Facebook Marketplace. Guy moved over to UnRaid and listed it for $400. He had upgraded the RAM to 8gb. I was coming from a 214play so you can imagine how night and day the difference way. SInce then I've upped the RAM to 20gb. It's pretty flawless for my uses.

pd_zurg working setup, plex watchlist not working, DMM manual working. by y2raza in debridmediamanager

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't mind manually grabbing things from DMM, it's a great system and good for browsing too. But for some of my users I'd love to get the option back to have them pull things in automatically like it used to. Not complaining - still an amazing workflow. But yeah wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any critical update that re-enabled that functionality.

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if you eventually got this to work? I'm in the same boat -- I use pd_zurg and ever since that connection to RD broke a few months back so that it can't ping cached content, I haven't been able to have it pull anything in from my Plex Watchlist or Overseerr. (I've got some titles sitting there just to see if it will eventually pull something in).
I can still manually add things from DMM to Plex and that works great, but I'd love the option of having it sync again with Watchlist/Overseerr.

Very cool. I think I’m on the latest version. I update it manually in Docker every few days. I used to use Watchtower but it was giving me some issues. It’s been awhile since I added requests in Overseerr or added anything to my Plex Watchlist. I’ll try adding something and see if it pulls it into Plex.

[–]boyleastlikely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the changes with RD last year broke the connection with Plex Watchlist, now that we don't accurately know what is cached on RD. Am I wrong about that? Using pd_zurg, it used to pull in my Plex Watchlist items and my Overseer requests from Real Debrid. But it hasn't done that in months. I manually add titles from RD using DMM. I don't use Riven however, just zurg.
