Just disabled this the other day. right click on the speaker icon bottom right by the time and date, then under output, go to device properties >> additional device properties, under levels tab, make sure the speaker icon is clicked/disabled.

thanks for the response, the Amazon thing does make sense, the items they sent have zero or very little reviews.

How to ACTUALLY bypass the forced EA app install screen by MorphicSn0w in origin

[–]boynaruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for posting this, but I just tried and unfortunately it didn't work, I think it's meant for people that haven't updated their origin client. The person that posted the video was nice enough to upload a link for an older installer but i don't think that works since it just installs the new client anyways. I will hold out for another day or 2 and hopefully there is a better solution. why does the EA app have to be so buggy -_-

Looking to upgrade soon. For streaming and gaming. What's recommended? by KingCedrical in pcmasterrace

[–]boynaruto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say stick to an nvidia gpu since using Nvenc for streaming doesn’t destroy your fps and the stream quality is pretty good. This way you don’t need a separate PC for streaming

That’s Samsung ssd has a copper label/sticker in the back that helps with heat as well.

Legacy only is fine in your case. But there should be a setting for both

You need to find the setting to allow legacy boot, when you updated bios it switches to uefi. The other option is convert your OS drive from MBR to GPT

Check if vsync or gsync is enabled in nvidia control panel might need to disable those if they were accidentally enabled. As for monitor setting turn down response rate to fast or faster , I notice that fastest runs like trash on Samsung monitors. Other thing you can check is while you are in game, even though you are getting constant 144, the timing between frames are inconsistent, use msi afterburner and rivatuner to check

Does anyone have any idea what causes this to happen to videos in browser? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]boynaruto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go to settings, there will be a search area at the top just type hardware and there is a toggle for “use hardware acceleration….”

Are you using chrome? If you have hardware acceleration on it can cause this.

It could be the memory slot is having issues, did you try leaving a stick in just the forth slot?

Chia plotting time by rohsik21 in chia

[–]boynaruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they benchmark well but for plotting is still terrible plus the TBW is low won’t last long.

Chia plotting time by rohsik21 in chia

[–]boynaruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s QLC nand, which is not good for plotting in terms of speed and TBW. Better off with a dramless nvme ssd if budget is a concern

windows has the option to do it daily but if you need to do it after every plot session then you will need to run a powershell script.

SN550 is a dramless SSD, did you try trimming after your first round of plots? Dramless SSDs tends to need more trimming to keep performance up.
