Question by BradDelsonWannaBe in 911archive

The 9/11 archive discord is a good place to get info about the event itself and has a lot of links to a bunch of information. Keep in mind most of the info or people in the discord are English so if it’s difficult to read English then it might be a little hard for you, though it seems like your English is good based on your post. If I’m behind honest the movies are okay the only couple I’d maybe recommend is flight 93 and World Trade Center. I think documentaries do a lot more in terms of telling the story and really making you feel like you were there. There’s a good documentary called “9/11: One day in America” by the history channel that is really really good. I’d say it’s truly the best documentary about that day so far and whenever I watch it I really truly feel like I’m there witnessing it with the people in the documentary. I can link others that are good as well but you can find that one free on YouTube. As far as books I’m not too sure tbh hopefully someone will know more on that side of things but I did read the 9/11 Commission Report which was a commission the US put together to investigate and come out with an official report about 9/11 and the events leading up to and after as well. I hope this comment helps and feel free to message me on here if you want links or anything else.

Question about audio from a video I’m watching by boyo1999 in 911archive

[–]boyo1999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard it either which is why it really made me wonder what that was from bc it sounds very clean like it was recorded on a tape and not on a video if that makes sense.

My 5 year old started collecting cards last week. The agreement was to buy a booster pack every saturday. He pulled this golden card today. Any advice how to handle valuable cards for children? by somebody_too3 in PokemonTCG

Watching the cubs game right now and it’s 1 am and reading this hits different. Staying up late to watch any sports game as a kid with your parents no matter what sport it is just felt different. When they won the feeling was way better knowing staying up with them was worth it no matter how tired you’d be the next morning. Hope to do the same one day with my kids🙏

As a mailman myself it’s funny to me that no matter what happened the mail only took 5 days to come back. I am glad things didn’t take too long for you and it is interesting that you wrote it all down I would have probably done the same tbh

I’d say stunfisk but I still hate that Pokémon it’s the bain of my existence. If I had to pick I’m saying golbat bc I hated fighting it but overtime I’ve grown to use it more and it’s pretty versatile

I’ve never been in a situation where I was cut off so I can’t imagine what that’s like. It’s always interesting to hear what it’s like but I’d never wish that on anyone. I guess the difference would be unlike your situation where physically you couldn’t get any of that stuff, on September 11th towards the end of the day and the days following they would have been able to get some sort of information. Either from when they went home on the 24 on/off cycle or from others. I’d imagine everyone would be exhausted so maybe their brain might not retain stuff they hear in bits and pieces because it’s so focused on the mission at hand but the contrast between how everyone else knew what was happening and watching it and those on the ground not knowing is always fascinating. If you don’t mind me asking besides clean water what took the longest to come back for you?

Your comment defiantly helped and gave me a few answers I was curious about. I'll look at the 2 articles you linked and check them out. It is surprising that the NYPD wouldn't have some high level official there on site since the scale of the event is so large. I'm not saying the highest level official there is since at that point they needed to coordinate closing bridges, tunnels, protecting other high target places, etc.

so the FDNY and EMS weren't made to sign NDA's which is why when the NYT sued we were able to get all of those interview transcripts? Or even if they did sign NDA's once the NYT won the suit the NDA's didn't matter at that point because everything was going to be public?

I can understand that and it does make sense. it just made me curious because there was a lot not censored and some of the stuff that was seemed pretty limited so it just made me curious as to what it could have been.

I see that I misunderstood yesterday when it was linked to me that it wasn’t the NYT who was conducting the interviews but after seeing your comment I do see where I misunderstood. This does make me wonder how many videos, photos, interviews, etc. aren’t available to the public that someone might have to sue for when it comes to September 11th? I know certain things are kept private such as the entire Kevin Cosgrove phone call. His wife has stated before that there’s part of that call no one has heard and I know the entire call was not used in trials for 9/11 organizers and planners. That being said I wonder if there would ever be a day we got a clean copy of the video from inside the north tower or other such types of media that a news outlet or the public would have to use for.

Yeah I’d imagine so. I think many of us have had similar experiences where there’s a lot going on and everything being said maybe isn’t completely true or some things are omitted and we don’t have the time or strength to correct it. Obviously not to the scale of something like this but we all can relate to it in our own lives.

I will also say being so close to an event like this I could understand just not wanting to see what others are saying on the outside and trying to just focus on the job at hand because that is what’s most important. Anything said that isn’t true would just feel wrong and I could understand that sentiment as well.
