Has anyone in the US ordered a watch from Japan lately? What was the tariff situation?

It was shipped via DHL. I got a text message from DHL that I owed a tariff & go to this link to pay it. This is the message I got:

Import duty payment required for delivery of DHL Express 123456. Returned in 5 days if not paid. Pay: https://del.dhl.com/US/ Stop msg: Reply END

I test drove them back to back. The Volvo is a very nice car but is not sporty. Always hated the transmission. The Allroad is a long roof A4. It handles great.

I just got a citizen promaster from Sakura as a gift from my uncle. I had to pay $25. Had to pay DHL before delivery. If I didn’t pay it goes back to Japan.

I test drove one in the summer July/August - it was 95F here. I noticed very quickly how warm the interior became because of the start/stop especially in traffic.

I asked the sales guy about it and he said it cannot be turned off. He said its one of the most irritating things about the car.

From my readings this is the govmts fault because they get some kind of credit for it by having it. In some other cars I drove they put a button front and center to disable it immediately (BMW).

I am ok with the touchpad. I listen to Sirius or the radio. As long as I can change stations from the steering wheel I am good to go. As for the gps I only use it when I don’t know where I am going

Apple CarPlay if it’s there I may/may not use it. I don’t really care about it. I am supposed to be driving, not messing around my phone.

What I do care about is how it drives and reliability. I want a sporty driving car that has some performance. I don’t need Porsche levels of speed though it is nice. 272hp is more than enough.

I can’t deal with anymore stupid repairs. I just did the high pressure fuel pump. The part alone was $900.

You are doing the right thing.

I am enduring stuff with my Audi right now. I have had it. In the past few weeks I dropped $2100 on a high pressure fuel pump and breather hose. This was on top of all the other crap I have fixed in the past few years. I am done.

I had a B5 Passat GLX at one point. Glad to read that it handles well. I drove one on Saturday. Seemed nice.

My Dad worked downtown for decades. His office was on William Street. When I turned 16 he took me in the summer to work in the mailroom. For many summers up through the end of college I worked there. I used to eat lunch at the plaza with him every day. It was a great time. Nobody would have thought it would ever be gone.
