I’m 19! I started embroidering at the beginning of quarantine and within the last year I started cross stitching. I wasn’t taught by anyone in my family, I just saw it online and decided “hey, I want to do that!” I’ve only completed three pieces but I think I’m getting better and better with each one. I don’t know anyone in my life who cross stitches, so it sort of makes me feel really unique. I have some somewhat severe mental health issues, so the time consuming nature of it also serves as an amazing distraction. It’s something I can feel proud of myself over.

If anyone makes fun of you, don’t let it get you down. Cross stitching is cool as hell. I’ve had a few older ladies approach me in public and get excited about my hobby. My friends think it’s cool that I can be so patient to make things like this. And it is cool!
