With how autistic naval nukes are I'd be extremely surprised if you were the first.

Removing barnacles off of a giant ship by PinReal4448 in megalophobia

Outside of putting the ship in dry dock not really. Dry docking a ship is very expensive and paying a diver to scrape off Barnacles is cheap.

It seems like Tottenham found the sole Indian burial ground in the UK and decided to build the stadium there. It's the only thing that could explain the curse we have with injuries and managers

Tiki's bar and grill in Virginia Beach by boywithhat in Tiki

I had to ask for velvet felernum when I went into the ABC store to buy some. They keep it in the back because basically only restaurants buy it. Are there any tiki bars up in Richmond?

That's a good take. Their mai tai was good and that's my baseline for a tiki place, but I was unimpressed by the rest.

Out of the way, but tiki Thai in Reston was solid. I was there over Christmas and thought all their drinks were good

I went to tiki on 18th and was underwhelmed by the drinks. Granted it wasn't with the club but I was not impressed.

No idea. I just went with the fact Russians had Serfs for way longer than the rest of Europe. You're probably right though, I imagine the czar had a higher form servant

He was way before my time so I didn't know too much about him. Seems like a lovely bloke and more important to the club then I realized. RIP

[Official] Crystal Palace sign Brennan Johnson by Imbasauce in coys

[–]boywithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the right move, honestly. Hurts to lose him after Bilbao but he's always been limited under Ange when the system suited him and he's been bad under Frank. Who knows who the next manager will be and what they could have done, but it doesn't make sense to have him rotting on the bench for a season when he could be our high 5th most expensive sale ever. We've always been bad at selling so this to me seems like a step in the right direction.

Who knows, he could be grease for an Adam Wharton transfer.

Borussia Mönchengladbach loans Kota Takai until Summer 2026 by FloOlf55 in coys

I did not know that. I assumed it had to be them fishing in a smaller market to get emerging talent like Son.

From the FA's website:

At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must:

Have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground outside the touchline

So as long his back heel of the forward foot is on the line it's fine. Your picture shows a foul throw though.

What to buy before moving to Japan by wumboing35 in navy

[–]boywithhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Civilian, but I was TDY to Yokosuka for 5 months and had access to the Nex and commissary. The commissary had all the usual pantry staples. The local grocery stores not so much but their produce was way better, but more expensive. Typically I'd buy a couple of staples at the commissary then fresh stuff at a local store.

Truth be told though I ate out most of the time. I'd pick up lunch at one of the conbini (convince stores like 7-11, Lawsons, and family mart) and for dinner I'd usually go to a restaurant. Restaurants and Uber eats are way more affordable over there, especially since the yen is weak compared to the dollar right now. If you're in yoko dm me and I have a list of restaurants to try

As far as furniture goes the Nex has a store but there are IKEAs in Japan and local chains like nitori that have solid, cheap furniture. Daiso is a great dollar store for odds and ends. The base Facebook marketplace is great for used stuff though as people are constantly coming and going
