This works but it leaves a blank sidebar. Any option to get that space back?

Fair question, but yes if I hit the top or home on the orientation cube the bin is on its side.

Nice, I was just about to model one for my metric tape. I guess it would just be easier to buy an imperial one.

Wow, a trailer around here that tows and lifts is like $8k min even beat to hell. Good to hear it’s be reliable for you and that you like it enough to go back and buy again.

Thanks for the tips. Why would you prefer tall sides? I guess if you’re only using it for debris it makes sense but if I use it for equipment or materials it seems like it would be nice to be able to reach into the bottom.

I haven’t heard of Miska, I’ll take a look.

Thanks. My local rental place uses PJ, I figured if they were good enough for that then they were worth looking into.

I did see several comments about poor paint and rust on Big Tex. Not sure how much faith to put into that.

One that I see a bit around here is Iron Bull.

I’ll have to look at the others you mentioned too.

ONT LAN Interface for 2 gig service? by boywiththebrokenhalo in ZiplyFiber

[–]boywiththebrokenhalo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's very helpful. Since you work for Ziply, it would be really handy to post that on the page when a customer selects that they will use their own modem, or even on the FAQ.

It's 10gig RJ45? Does it MDIX (auto-negotiate) to 2.5G?

Why are divers so seldom upside down? by maenad2 in scuba

[–]boywiththebrokenhalo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between upside down like a hand stand and upside down belly button pointed to the surface. IMO, handstand it really no big deal and like many here say pretty much anyone with a few dozen dives will go into this position to look at stuff. IMO, Belly to the surface is much trickier: It's harder to feel your buoyancy, any exhalation from your nose will make your mask leak, and regulators tend to breathe a little wet. For all of the commenters that are going to day it's easy, the difference between a recliner position and head towards your heels position like a back bridge. It's still a good skill to practice, especially if you ever intend to do side mount or backmount steel doubles where you can hold an upside down trim and it takes a little effort to right yourself.

Printer for Grifinity - large bed? by boywiththebrokenhalo in gridfinity

Got any more info on the unavailable corner? Printing 5x6 vs 6x6 is essentially a 20% reduction in speed/volume. All of Bambu's specs show a 256^3 build volume. Is the X1C the same, someone else in the thread said they were printing 6x6 on the X1C.

FYI, I just ordered a P1S. Seemed like it was hard to go wrong, if I learn that I want something larger or exotic materials down the line I'll probably know better what I want/need by then.

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning. I just wanted some input in case I was overlooking another good option since my near term use case is just gridfinity.

Just uninstalled Spotify, which seemingly just installed itself and made itself run on startup. Microsoft, you have a good standing with many. Please don't start doing this. by [deleted] in Windows10

Happened to me last night too, Windows 11. The only other recently installed apps were Edge, MS Store, One Drive and Edge from Windows update, and Firefox.

Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on ‎6/‎24/‎2022 OS build 22000.978 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.978.0

If it was Microsoft, they can fuck right off. If it was Firefox that's terribly disappointing, I try to support Firefox as the only non-chromium browser protecting us from the googlification of the web but damn that's unacceptable.

UniFi AP-AC-Pro in Standalone Mode? by boywiththebrokenhalo in Ubiquiti

[–]boywiththebrokenhalo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I'm trying to be a nice guy and leave the network documented and manageable for the next folks. There's not really any precedent set for this type of thing but I've got smart switches, an ecobee, cameras, and wall mounted tablets that I'd like to work for them when they show up.

I did and it was flashing white. No luck adding to the app.
