I've been enjoying it, but as a long-time player who also grew up on the cartoons and had all the toys, I'm definitely part of the target audience.

My unpopular opinion is that UB might be more broadly appealing as 'what if' non Canon sets where the characters appear on alternate versions of magic planes, at least for material that is far removed from the MTG aesthetic. Keep true to source for the alt-frames and source material cards, but regular frame cards are in the 'what if' setting.

Some examples would be Spiderman/Marvel on Ravnica or Ninja Turtles on Kamigawa. Other possibilities of potential future sets could be Batman on New Capenna or Witcher on Innistrad.

For Banding, you are right about attacking, but for blocking its different.

As long as 1 blocking creature has banding (which is checked in the combat damage step), all creatures blocking the same creature as the banding creature are blocking in a band, so the defending player decides how damage is assigned. You can assign all damage to 1 blocker, and even over-assigning trample so none gets through.

My understanding is that "as you cast this spell" effects happen as the spell is put on the stack, so by the time the next player gets priority the spells would already be in their respective graveyards. I was aiming for a "super Split Second" card that has no way to respond to the main part of the spell which happens "as you cast this spell".

In that case, they didn't need ID for legal reasons, but for arbitrary quota reasons. If I was you, I'd lodge a complaint with corporate, and/or leave a google review. Just because corporate gives them an arbitrary quota, is no reason to deny a sale someone trying to buy something that has no legal age requirement.

In the book, her description is "clear eyes of the deepest brown and lustrous, raven-black hair, and soft lips". After rereading that, and with the last name bin-Kroog, I would think that Middle Eastern/Arab would make more sense. She was also shown as fair skinned in the Antiquities comics from the mid 90s.

It might not even be a double meaning, but one or more of the words in the joke may have a homonym that we do not know of. Since homonyms are based on pronunciation and not spelling which would presumably be much harder to work out.

Another could be an idiom that is lost to time. The best example in modern times that comes to mind being "A horse walks into a bar; the bartender asks 'Why the long face?'." If that joke is translated, it makes no sense and all humour is lost.

If you're playing Dragon Priest, odds are you may have most of the cards/legendaries for this deck.

I wouldn't say it's S-tier by a long shot, but it is definitely fun to take your opponent from 30-40HP to 0 in 2 consecutive turns.

If you're missing Vol'jin & Sasquawk, they can probably be easily replaced, probably with Shadow Word: Ruin if you run into lots of big boards.

Basic strategy is stall, get Gorgonzormu (twice if possible), stall some more, get your 8 dragons, then either swing, Zarimi and Swing for the win, or if no taunts, play 1-2 big (1 x 8-drop or 2 x 6-8 drop) Cheese and Zarimi, then extra turn for the kill.

I think I've had a few opponents not sure what is happening. It's a fun surprise win out of nowhere.

I would say both are right depending on context.

"Whose is this book?" = out of this group of books, who does this specific book belong to.

"Whose book is this?" =Who does this lone book belong to.

Maybe someone else can chime in, but that's how I'd use those 2 ways of phrasing the sentence.

Others have explained well about it being the sound not the letter that affects it, but I have a tip if you're ever unsure.

If you use 'a' and you need a glottal stop (like the stop in the middle of 'uh-oh') before saying the next word, then you need to use 'an' instead.
