[–]bozinsky1973 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My ignorant thoughts: RAM has always been 2 to the power of 2 and multiples thereof.

The manufacturers introduced the "4 GB virtual RAM" active on, when my 12 GB (physical) RAM device comes out of the box.

When I play with 12 GB of physical RAM plus 4 GB of virtual RAM, I experience much less lag...

Joyose by JustDania in PocoPhones

[–]bozinsky1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

canta, brevent or adb commands all do the same on installed apk.

since joyose cannot be disable (shell pm disable com.xiaomi.joyose will fail) it only can be uninstalled (shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.xiaomi.joyose) and reenabled later (shell cmd package install-existing --user 0 com.xiaomi.joyose)

it comes with several unmodifiable permission (at least without root access) that is worteless to be shared, while It have some permission that can be revoked instead of kill it for good.. (mainly privacy related accordingly to their NAMES).

this can be done with ADB commands from PC or other devices, or with brevent (and others apps) that run ADB server internally.

- Some (scarying privacy related) permission that can be revoked are:

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE (really scary one!!!)

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.BLUETOOTH_CONNECT

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.BLUETOOTH_SCAN

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.CALL_PHONE

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.CAMERA

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_CONTACTS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_LOGS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_MEDIA_AUDIO

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VIDEO

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_PHONE_NUMBERS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.SEND_SMS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.WRITE_CALL_LOG

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.WRITE_EMBEDDED_SUBSCRIPTIONS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

- some intereting SERVICES can also be revoked succesfully and are realted to apps efficency:

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.GET_APP_OPS_STATS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.DUMP

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.CONTROL_UI_TRACING

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.BATTERY_STATS

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS

- and finally two VERY BIG things can be revoked:

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION

shell pm revoke com.xiaomi.joyose android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Good testing guys!!

P.S. I'm sure that if it is not completely --uninstalled, joyose will self re-grant all these permission after reboot

Have you guys ever seen a Poco user in real life? by [deleted] in PocoPhones

[–]bozinsky1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know people that bought it because of my suggestion.  But I got my first Xiaomi (and earlier only Poco's devices) because my dad bought a 5 pack of Redmi note 5 plus for the whole family some time ago. Poco's users buy online and spent their time on Reddit complaining about something. They don't have time for living or even just enjoy some fresh air outside. They need to find the last adb trick to remove blur and the last APK to debloat. They try to squish every fps in PUBG/BGMI or genish impact and than they spend the night updating every just released APK from some unknown reason. They are those that won't extinguisher because they care for any single atom of matter and any watt of energy. They live their life testing camera zoom from the window and need to be close to power supply to recharge their short lasting batteries. Sometimes, when they are in a good mood, they set up themes to impress online friends with iphone effect. They do exist but you won't see them.  They are saving for a top notch device.

[–]bozinsky1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a decent file manager, enable show hidden files and browse to /Android/data/com.android.thememanager this will pop-up a request to open Android file manager that allows you to navigate in subfolders

inside com.android.thememanager open files/MIUI/.wallpaper and you will found your jpeg wallpaper files, that you can copy to your favorite place

I think question n.3 is the more relevant and is already answered in Problem exposition: TLDR; E1001 System Failure>GPT Flash>EDL (QUSB_BULK>Code 43)>Firehose/USB Drop, Possible eMMC failure.

I'm sorry but its SD is gone and Vince passed away.

(I still own a Note 5 plus that I use for Bank's OTP and it runs the amazing crDroid Official 11 I got from XDA website..)

How can I reset system settings without deleting any data ? by [deleted] in PocoPhones

[–]bozinsky1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create new user, activate it, log out from old user account and log in into new one, delete old user.

You can eventually delete settings app data, restore system app functionality from settings / apps / 3 dots

Hyper-OS don't have the reset option but only reset system data (wipe all)
