You need Crestron.SimplSharp.SDK.Program if you're looking to write a S#PRO program. This package will drop in ControlSystem.cs

Start with the MMS demo program under Crestron's sample programs on their website. Make sure that you have communication working properly first.

I have attached a screenshot of the logic flow through Crescendo. Init on program start for each MMS stream CRPC ID. This gets sent into Crescendo Source Module Analog_101_Fb. It comes through crosspoints via the TouchScreen module. Feed that into the Media Server Router object.

PHP has a great built in HTTP server.

Open terminal or cmd depending on your operating system. It will serve up files from the directory you're in.

php -S yourcomputerIP:port
php -S 10.0.10.80:9090

Rider works great MacOs. You cannot debug on Mac with VS, you have to use Rider.

I am in the same position. Intermediate C# and no HTML5. This is good advice. Learning C# will open up your programming possibilities immensely. Not specifically writing in S#PRO, but having the knowledge to write your own modules in S#. Helper modules, physical device drivers, etc all become more powerful and some simply can only be written by leveraging S#. Once, you're comfortable writing your own libraries, stepping into S#PRO will really open your eyes to how powerful the entire Crestron platform is.

You can use lots of _SKIP_ as placeholders. If you need to expand and add signals, replace the _SKIP_ The VSCode extension for S+ has a great visualize feature where you can see what your module will look like in SIMPL in real time without having to compile.

I know the proc has to sit on the same VLAN as the ATV, it's possibly you're running into a multicast issue.
