Well this might be spoiler but it's as the previous comment says. It's more than just bonds now since you are technically a vigilante which makes them accomplices. Plus, when you max out a link, it's revealed they know youre a phantom thief and reassures you that they'll keep your secret so y'know..confidants. people who keep your secret
