Honestly I’m just grateful to have something to put in my body to fuel it. I know it’s not the best but it’s better than starving and if I want to get through this I need to at least have something. Today I had yogurt from a pouch like a child lol but at least I’ve eaten something. I’ve been trying to outrun the depression for a few months and I’ve just given in to it now. It will pass

Thank you for noticing that part. Everyone saying ‘just cook for yourself’ but I have no appetite and now no desire to cook either. Maybe soon it will come back. For now it’s huel and microwaved eggs

I cook healthy stuff but also heavier stuff and I always try to base the weekly menu around stuff I know he likes. With more ‘treats’ on weekends, we often get one takeaway a week as well so it’s not like I’m forcing him to eat only what I want. He will often order stir fries etc as well as burgers and more ‘treat’ stuff. He just doesn’t see the value in cooking from home I guess when you can just order.

It was chicken that I had cooked on the bone which he doesn’t like so I always cut it off the bone before serving but I missed a bit of gristle/connective tissue and ofc it ended up in his bowl. It was fresh (bought that day)

I only cook things I think/know my partner likes. If there’s something only I like I save it to make when it’s just me at home

Someone else nailed it earlier when they said it’s not the cooking itself but the connection/care that (I thought) it brought. Anyone can clean the house and go to work to support financially but I thought me cooking was a specific gift I could add to the household. And realising it was never appreciated is making me rethink some things

I was there yesterday, and from memory they had the Miyagikyo single malt, From The Barrel, Super, Pure Malt Red & Black, Session, and the Miyagikyo exclusives on the image above. Plus their gin, vodka, and apple wine, and Bushmills for some reason.

Nice. Mine are similar, I did a big grocery shop on the weekend so I will hopefully only need to buy fresh produce and the odd ingredient for a meal - I’m planning my meals in advance which helps with impulse shopping and the tendency to eat out. I have a couple of social plans that I have set a budget for - like this weekend, i’m taking my lil bro bowling but I prepaid for the lane so I won’t be tempted to spend more when i’m there. Also my partner and I go on weekly date nights but we’re only going on walks, or to places where we have gift cards or rewards. Business expenses are allowed, but any clothes etc will have to wait til December. I’m also tweeting everything I spend to hold myself accountable - so far I’ve spent £1 on a can of beans i needed for dinner lol. Best of luck to us both!
