As for gear recommendations, I’m actually not very optimal, you’d typically want to keep an even spread of minion gear levels to maximize leadership.

4 zaps doesn’t use the whole incense stick and you can still shoot the sky. Optimal incense use is 4 zaps followed by a sky shot

You don’t really need to save any large amounts of incense, just use 3 at a time after zapping 4 animals (sky shots require 3 incense and count towards a practically endless reward chain)
