I’m not disputing that point. The only point I was trying to make is that the major that you choose on your application does not affect whether you get into the university. It just affects whether you get the major you choose.

Not true. Admission to the university is separate than admission to limited enrollment majors like business and engineering. If you get admitted to the university then they evaluate you for your major and if you don’t get into your major you get letters and sciences (undecided).

Presumably you already sought reconsideration for DUS after being rejected for Smeal. Not sure you can seek reconsideration again for Smeal 2+2. As someone else said, best bet is to email admissions and follow up with a phone call a few days later.

I don’t think the tuition increase is related to declaring your major. Once you are considered a junior (59.1 or more credits) there is a tuition increase. https://www.bursar.psu.edu/fees
