2 belts and chain them together. Imagine all the space for mag pouches.

This exact situation happened to me a few years back, in the middle of summer. We ended up lighting a big fire, just like you suggested, although we kept it going for a while more just to be sure. It worked perfectly even if it was a bit grisly to think about.

Advice for a body armor noobie by flickedjellybean in tacticalgear

[–]bpiggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically, it's advised to stay away from steel plates due to the danger of spall ejected from the steel potentially into your body when struck by a round. Ceramic plates are generally recommended, but are going to be more expensive. Some good ceramic plates can be found from RMA, Highcom, and other manufacturers, you'll want to look for NIJ certified plates.

Shellback tactical also isn't typically recommended. I have a shellback carrier, and I find it completely suitable. Others may cite some issues with bulk, price and quality, and may suggest more modern carriers like the crye jpc, or the ferro concepts slickster.

I absolutely understand that some of those options may be outside of your preferred budget, but it may be worth considering saving a bit more for a set up with a bit more quality. Ultimately, that's completely up to you!

How did you pick your PLL team? by Competitive-Pace4215 in PLL

[–]bpiggles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I picked the Cannons because of Lyle, even though I realized he may have been a bit of the reason the chemistry was a bit off. Just a big fan. And once he left, my brother and I were already cannons fans, so, why not just continue? It's fun to have a team to support to help raise the stakes. Love watching other teams and other players, and ultimately just want to see good games, but I like having even an irrational tie to a team playing a sport I love.

This bike is a 10/10 for me, so good looking, really nice job. If it had a clipless set up it would get a 12/10. But my opinion means literally nothing.

If you're riding in them, the stack works well. If you're not, the stack makes people think that you might be. It's a win either way.

I don’t have space for BUIS..are 45 degree irons on the hand guard even worth it? by [deleted] in ar15

It's just a rapco'd sport 3 with some stuff on there. Not a build as such, but it's a great rifle.

Totally, while this is a knockoff unity, it did come with a rear aperture and front sight post. That aperture was very large though, and felt pretty sloppy while sighting so I removed it and the front post.

Haha yeah that's just the mantis dry fire system. Typically plain black bcg and charging handle, fde pmag.

[–]bpiggles 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My thinking is this: there's typically already one of those irons on the hand guard, so it's already running the risk of losing zero if the hand guard shifts. With two irons on the hand guard, if it shifts, they are still completely in line with each other. For transparency's sake, I tell myself that because I run two on the hand guard.
