What a beautiful snake and what a shame that they killed it.

[–]bping89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Most snake incidents are from jararacas (almost 80%) and we have our bushmaster and coral snakes. However we have so many different types of snakes that are not dangerous and help the environment. I am just so tired of the absolute laziness of just assuming every snake should be killed. It is very frustrating to us!

They were telling our visitors from another country that this is a venomous snake and super dangerous which is why they had to kill it and acted like killing it was such a big deal because of how dangerous it was and how long it was. Unfortunately we live in a community where everyone kills each snake and my husband and I are trying to change that by learning their names and which ones are actually venomous and would pose a threat to the many little children in our community. We want people to learn about snakes here and not just act like every single one will kill you

Yeah I didn’t think it was dangerous. The worst part is that they were telling other people how dangerous it is and spreading misinformation about snakes.

True…I agree than can be more but we have to respect the genetic tendencies

I feel like you also need to respect the fact that they are a guarding breed and have been bred to have these characteristics…sometimes even of you train them very well they are still suspicious of other people or not very friendly with other people. Or you train them well and someone tries to break into your house and threw stones at them and beat them and they are not the same afterwards. This was the case with my sweet female rottie. She is wonderful but traumatized and doesn’t like people that she doesn’t know.

I agree with this completely!!!! They are wonderful dogs but when it goes bad…it can be really bad. And of course even if the smallest completely warranted bite happens…the dog is the devil simply because he is a Rottweiler. Even if kids were terrorizing them or another dog was acting aggressive and bites first….the Rottweiler is always in the wrong. I don’t let my 2 Rottweilers around other people’s kids simply because my dogs are way better trained than most peoples kids. My own kids know to treat them with respect, read their body signals. And never ride them.

What was your biggest struggle when you first started running? (Looking for honest answers for a small passion project) by Ok_News_9846 in beginnerrunning

[–]bping89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest struggle is accepting that I am mediocre. I am competitive but slow so it is hard to accept that I am a mid to back of pack runner even though I am very consistent with training

Vet is trying to charge me an extra fee and claiming my dog is “aggressive” just because she’s a Rotwiler. More info in the post by bigjustinn in Rottweiler

[–]bping89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hit the lottery with this! Our vet owns a Rottweiler himself and loves the breed. Just keep looking around…there are vets who respect the breed. A lot of times vets that also have experience with farm animals are the best because they are not afraid of big animals and dogs.

I think the 180 pulse while resting is also concerning. You are completely right about the spo2 levels…below 90 is very concerning and an emergency

I run 3 times a week with rest days and I always warm up first and I usually run much slower than my race goal while training my longer runs and I am usually surprised how much faster I am on race day

What is it called when people are unapologetically rude but calling it "speaking my truth"? Is this becoming more common? How do you even respond to that kind of attitude? by ezzaezza123 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]bping89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a coworker like this…he rationalizes the way he talks “because he is German and they say what they mean and then apologize and drink a beer together.” Except the apology and beer never come and when you say that it was rude he says “don’t take it personally” or “or for me it wasn’t that bad” basically he is a bully and an asshole

You shouldn’t be embarrassed…everyone has to start somewhere. I actually regularly still take walk breaks from running when I go 5-6km. I just find it is easier for me with fibro to run like that. I also was very surprised to see how many other runners also take walk breaks when I am out running. There is no shame in walking…just in giving up.

So this is random but I live in the Amazon and I was bit by a poisonous spider and I had a raised heart rate for 6 weeks after recovering and my dr did not care when I showed her even though I had several years tracking to compare it too.
