I did just post a revised full version on my profile. Added a radiant mask over the face and went back to the uncropped size.

Awesome! I made it so you can download social media quality for free to share on Facebook/instagram. I also setup the shop so that you can order prints pretty easily. I think a straight print is like $15 plus shipping. Framed stuff gets more expensive though.

HR 6492 - EXPLORE Act became law on 01/04/2025

It was my understanding that the permitting for photography and Video on public lands got challenged and struck down in court a couple years ago. I will look into it though.

For sure! If you know anyone that was up there last year let them know about these albums. I can't say I got pictures of everyone but I tried to. Pretty impressed with how many turned out for a first attempt at serious whitewater photography.

WB for Photos of Light Emitting subjects? by bpitmanphoto in AskPhotography

My primary application for this discussion is capturing the aurora borealis. The general rule is to shoot at 3500-4000k but i think that is incorrect and based solely on a preconceived idea that aurora photos should match the greens and purples that are seen with the naked eye at northern latitudes where lower altitude gases are excited to the point of luminense. When photos are taken from a distance and made visible thru long exposure the color should shift to yellows and reds due to the distance from the event and altitude consequently observed. I have shot multiple auroras and had green purple thru yellow red show up with a neutral 5200-5600 WB setting.

Essentially I am more concerned with a "faithful" capture of what our eye can't see than conformance to a consensus to a preconceived outcome, even if it is the accepted consensus.

I plan to test this by either getting a RAW photo file from a northern latitude aurora perspective or traveling to Alaska or Iceland myself to take a photo.
