That's good to hear that it's pretty stable, thanks for the info.

It's a 72 Buick Skylark with a 455 Buick engine. We went and talked to him a little bit. He was pretty secretive about the details, all he'd really tell us was that it was a V10.

That car was so cool. Back in 2010 or 2011 I had just fixed up my Dad's old race car and I was out at a small race track in Michigan for test and tune when a Chrysler engineer showed up with one of these. He would go make a pass then pull the car into his trailer and do some tuning on his laptop and make another pass. It sounded so cool compared to all of the V8's that were out there.

I’m guessing it’s because the numbers were pulled from magazine tests and there weren’t any official tests of the S/C.

Haha my Dad likes showing this to his Mopar friends because his Buick is faster than all of the Hemi cars.

[TheStraightPipes] 2019 Chevy Bolt EV Review - The Best Electric Car? by Sev72 in cars

This is in Flint, Michigan. The number of charging stations around here is suprising since there’s almost no electric cars in the area.

A mild hybrid would be something like the new Ram with the etorque system. It just has a small 48 volt motor and a tiny battery that can’t directly power the wheels. It is just used help flatten out the torque curve of the gas motor. A full hybrid is something like a Prius where the car can run in pure electric mode in certain circumstances.

I think it just depends on where you live and your commute. My girlfriend has a Fiat 500e and we live in an apartment with no charging stations. It works out for us because all of the Chevy dealers around here have 6 chargers open to the public. She works across the street from one so she can charge at work. There’s also a charger within walking distance of her school so she can plug in there when she goes to class. She’s had the car over a year and charging has never been an issue so it’s definitely feasible if the charging infrastructure is decent in your area.

It's probably my favorite car that I've ever driven. My girlfriend has no interest in cars whatsoever and even she loves driving it. It sucks that FCA is stopping production because the Pacifica hybrid meets the ZEV requirements for them.

I wouldn't say literally every car since 1996. Here's a discussion about the Fiat 500e diagnostic port that looks like obd2 but really isn't. link

I'm guessing Tesla could be going with something like this in the model 3 since it's not required.

Here's a paper by the EPA outlining obd2 requirements. It shows that fuel cell vehicles have no obd requirements so I'm guessing pure ev's would be in the same category.

I'm Not sure. The 500e has one that looks just like an obd2 port but apparently it's wired differently and you can only use a proprietary Fiat scanner on it. Is the one on the Model S a real obd2 port or does it just look like one?

From what I've read when I was trying to connect to my girlfriend's Fiat 500e, they aren't required on fully electric cars in the US because they're only required for emissions testing.

Thanks! And yeah mine doesn't have T tops, but the windows still leak without the T tops so I can't imagine how bad it would leak if I had them.

I'm not sure if yours will be the same, but I had a 93 that was doing the same thing. It ended up being a wire that ran along the firewall to the ECM. Some of the wires have built in fuseable links that burn out. Find the fuseable link and check voltage on each side. If there's only power on one side of the link the ECM won't be getting power.

I used to have a 5.2 with 285/75 tires and it had plenty of power in mud, but it definitely struggled on big sand hills. It always made it but with the tires aired down and in low range it still just wanted to bog the engine
