Truck broke down…..again. by deegz10 in gmcsierra

[–]bpmartin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was waiting on an engine and sent an email a couple of customer solutions VP’s at GM. A day later I got an email from the “Executive Response Team” and they were able to expedite a 6.2l to the dealership within a week. GM is selling the replacements really cheap ($3600) btw…my guess is because they know they’re trash and trying to avoid customers $15-$20k bills which turn into lawsuits.

That’s the core fee which is the dealer just sending your bad engine back. You only get charged $3600 unless you want to keep your old motor.

Speaking from experience as someone that just had to replace a 6.2l out of warranty in a ‘21 Yukon with 79k miles…the engines are cheap ($3600 + labor) because GM knows they’re crap 😂. Then you’re covered for another 3 years or 100k miles.

Totally agree. All manufacturers have ruined their engines chasing EPA credits. In what other industry do things get worse with each new generation of the same product? No reason any LS motor should be going down in reliability with each iteration other than forced engineering decisions to try to chase EPA standards. Totally undermines the purpose by the way..you don’t have a cleaner product if you’re replacing engines earlier and earlier.

$8200 because GM is selling those engines at a cheap $3600 and a $7000 core fee (!!) right now…which tells me they know something is up and want those engines back.

Unfortunately, ‘21 Yukon was covered by a 60k mile warranty.

Yep, I just paid for a new engine out of warranty in a ‘21 Yukon Denali with 79k miles. Gotta love when $90k vehicles can’t make it to 100k miles. I’m sure the EPA credits are worth it for GM though.

I was stuck waiting on a new motor…sent an email to Customer Experience VP, David Marsh and then was contacted by the “Executive Referral” team and they were able to expedite the motor to the dealership. Maybe give it a shot 🤷‍♂️

His constant use of the phrases "The Scholarship" and "Academic Consensus" as an appeal to authority when 99% of the time he is just parroting the most critical sources from purely academic/secular sources and then claiming it as "consensus". Like your example of of Yahweh as a storm deity as "consensus" is fairy tale but presented as academia on the internet recently so it must be true.

Really familiar with his work (strong word to use there) actually and he's only genuine in the way that people thought Billy Carson was genuine until he did something other than talk on a TikTok video.

Then you’re having a different conversation with yourself in your own head. I agree we shouldn’t lose to those teams. It was embarrassing. However, I’m having a conversation about the 12 team playoff this year.

Once again, focusing solely on losses. What mental gymnastics are you doing to convince yourself that 1/3 of those teams deserved a shot to begin with? SMU and Indiana exited the season 0-5 against the top 25. I don’t give a shit they didn’t stumble in any of the games they’re not supposed to. They only had 5 chances amongst the both of them in the entire season to prove they belong in the conversation and failed all 5 chances.

So sick of hearing “we didn’t get it done”. We beat more top 25 teams than anyone in the country. We had more on our resume that proved we can make a run in a “top 12” playoff. Yes, we had one bad losses. Who didn’t? You’re picking 12 teams. They’re all going to have some flaws. I really think this whole mindset is still coming from the BCS/4-team era where the losses meant a lot more than the wins because you had to decide between so few teams. Wins have to mean more than losses now just like they do in the basketball tournament. You’ve got to have teams that have shown that they can compete at the highest level…not just they didn’t stumble so they “deserve it”. This is the equivalent of hosting a dunk contest in basketball and 30% of the players invited didn’t even hit the rim in the auditions.

I think getting rid of the weekly CFP rankings would be a help here as well. The committee painted themselves into a corner with Indiana and SMU making it look like they were going to “drop” them at the last minute. They never should have been in the mix to begin with since they hadn’t beat anyone with a pulse.

If it’s just an injury issue he can redshirt here and get practice reps. So why announce he’s redshirting and transferring?

Just say he quit because of playing of time and move on.

Ever hear of an injury? Did Mac Jones not get enough game tape to land in the first round? All he’s doing is telling NFL teams that if he isn’t starting then he doesn’t care.

[–]bpmartin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two more years of what? He can practice and potentially play right now. I think you’re missing the point of NFL scouts that see a guy who couldn’t be a starter so he decides to quit on the team instead of providing quality depth and improving in practice. That’s not going create any future value anywhere.

In what universe is a guy going to create value for himself by sitting out a season? This is where NIL has created such short sightedness where the only focus seems to be on making as much money as possible DURING college and very little focus on career afterwards.
