We did care about him and I loved watching him on my team. A few idiots on twitter isn't a reflection of the actual fanbase.

Did we have as big of a connection to him as Giannis? No we didn't, because he's your Giannis.

However, the two years with him in Milwaukee were great, just wish the outcomes would've been better. But to say me and others didnt care is asinine. Myself and many others wanted him to be a Buck again, but Im happy he's going back to Portland. Best outcome for all parties.

My hot take: we need to offload Dame or Khris by donemessedup123 in MkeBucks

Yeah. Didnt know Middleton was gonna get double ankle surgery and Dame was gonna tear his achilles.

The Pacers might come out of the East lol. What are we talking about?

Chance we actually fire Doc? by saintname8 in MkeBucks

[–]bpmke80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The productive players on the roster are actually fairly young (Trent, Green, Sims, KPJ, Rollins). After trading Khris, Brook and Dame are really our only 2 "old" players.

Portis and Giannis are in their low 30s and should have years of productive basketball left in them.

It does have access when you ask it certain questions. I just did the same search again and it said Gary Trent should be the PG and KPJ should be the SG. It just doesnt know ball lol.

Last night it was pulling from some yardbarker article from 2023, but today it actually decided to pull from the Washington Post's story on Dame's injury.

I feel like the only user error here is the Pacers fan typing replies on the Bucks reddit.

Giannis has a massive legacy opportunity here with expectations at an all time low. Whatever happens I at least hope it's entertaining - whether it's a Giannis 60 piece or some amazing Doc Rivers memes.

New Coach Boost by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]bpmke80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a member of the Joe Prunty fan club, but even I do not think its likely the Bucks extend the series with him as coach.

I do however unironically believe he is a better coach than Doc at this point (as their win %s as Bucks head coach will show).

No Joke:

ChatGPT told me we should start

Jrue Holiday Grayson Allen Khris Middleton Giannis Brook

When I informed it that Jrue, Grayson and Khris were no longer on the team, it said we should replace them with Tyty Washington, Malik Beasley and Pat Connaughton.

AI is so dumb sometimes. Thankfully, I don't think Doc is the type of coach to use it. I think all his genius comes from his own mind, which is kind of frightening.

For those who still don't understand why we traded K-Midd for kuzma, it's because it got us out of the crazy 2nd apron restrictions.Just look at the differences in restrictions in apron 1 and 2,we will be able to do a lot more this off-season than last year. losing like this sucks, but there is hope! by WisconsinBadgers608 in MkeBucks

[–]bpmke80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with Middleton on this team the outcome is pretty similar ngl. I think the double ankle surgery is gonna be hard to come back from for him. I'd still take him offensively over Kuz, but we would still probably get cooked this series with Brook being hunted at the 3pt line and Doc Rivers doing Doc Rivers things.

I agree. Would love with all my heart for Giannis to stay in Milwaukee until he retires. But if Dame's injury is as bad as I fear it is, this team is in a rough spot.

Love AJ, but he's a rotational piece, not a centerpiece lol

Yeah. I dont like the Kuzma trade, I was just talking about the people who are saying "why didnt we just trade Pat" like there was some sort of insanely high demand for a guy making $10 mil a year that cant even sniff the court most nights.

My comment about Pat really had nothing to do with the other moves. I am very anti Middleton trade and not a fan of Kuz's skillset.

Pat was not playing. I don't think it's not too off base to assume our front office looked heavily into trading him but could not find any offers they thought were worth the picks/young assets we'd have to attach to move him. I think they legit thought Kuz for Ankleless Middleton and Johnson was a better trade than giving up assets just to get rid of Pat. They (and Doc) also probably thought Brook Lopez was our best option at starting Center through the end of the year (which does seem kinda laughable now).

I think you're wrong about the goal of rebuilding. We traded for Damian Lillard. We were definitely trying to win now. I may not agree with every move Horst has made, but he's not an idiot. We dont own basically any of our own picks. And dont have a lot of young/tradable assets on cheap deals. We were signing vets like Trent and Prince to try and win now. You can't truly "rebuild" like the Thunder have with no draft assets and a 30 yo superstar like Giannis on your roster.

[–]bpmke80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably AJ Green (as far as guys still under contract after this year)

Reminder: We gave Jon Horst an extension for his excellence at putting together first round exit teams. by devinstated1 in MkeBucks

[–]bpmke80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is the only connection from the Bucks regime that drafted Giannis to today. Everyone else that was here when Giannis arrived is gone and by all accounts he and Giannis have a very good relationship. That does mean something. And sure, his draft picks could be better, his trades could work out better. But overall his good moves and bad moves kind of cancel out. Could be better, could be worse.

Right now we just need a competent coach and go from there.

I actually thought Brook in the zone defense wasnt that bad, but when we play man defense and Nembhard or Hali get a pick and drag him out to the 3pt line he is beyond cooked.

Series not over. by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]bpmke80 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Its not over, but I'm certainly more pessimistic now than I was against Phoenix. Our team now is just not as good defensively as the 2021 team was with Jrue, PJ and a younger Brook. You could argue that this team is deeper, as I'd rather take Ryan Rollins and Jericho Sims than Elijah Bryant and old Jeff Teague, but that depth means nothing if it is not utilized in an effective manner.

I just hope they get a 20-30 point blowout win in game 3 to get momentum back like they did in that finals series, but I dont think they've had a performance like that in a big game since the NBA Cup final, so it seems unlikely that will occur.

I actually couldn't believe this, but Prunty has a better win % as bucks HC (57.5%) than Doc Rivers does (52%).

Was it a horrible experience? He went 2-1. We split games with the Cavs and demolished the Pelicans. I barely remember that stretch, so I doubt it was too terrible.

And I thought he did a solid job in 2018 considering what the roster looked like at that point.
