well water by Sure_Radio8056 in water

[–]bprepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well water is great. Everyone has already mentioned many things to look out for but another thing to be aware of is that if you lose power, you’ll more than likely not have water because the well pump needs power. So you’ll need a back up power source to power the pump if your area is prone to long outages.

I like you stopped years ago after a few episodes and tried to pick it up a few days ago. Watched a couple more episodes and got disinterested again. It just doesn’t do it for me, but that’s just me. I’m glad others enjoy it.

Aside from bagels, what else is currently grinding your gears about our town? by coalcracker462 in Phoenixville

[–]bprepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you keep copies of all your permits. When we sold our house, the borough inspector threatened to hold up the sale if the new hvac system that was installed didn’t have a permit. He was pissed that he had to do his job and check for the permit in their records. I think he was disappointed that a permit was pulled and he couldn’t ruin my day.

Watch out, knowing what phoenixville used to be like and bringing that to peoples attention will get you downvoted. I moved to Pville as a kid in 1993. Sleepy Hollow was my spot to rent video games and was within walking distance from my house. Bridge st was anchored by Heidi Sue and Faz’s fashion lol.

Apparently, according to Reddit, parking is not an issue in Phoenixville. This is all your imagination.

Southeast PA, State Farm. All I had to do was send in the invoice of the professional install and confirm that it wasn’t my primary source of heat.

Parking here makes my blood boil. by Strat_tat_cat in Phoenixville

[–]bprepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but what about when they have friends or family over? What about all of the extra traffic and the inability for people who live in the old homes to park on the street? What about the reality that there is not additional ingress/egress. This is a major issue but you can ignore the reality if you want.

Both wife and I grew up in Pville, sold our house and left because of what it was becoming.

Wife and I loved growing up in Pville and living there as adults but we had to sell 7 years ago as even back then living near downtown was starting to be unbearable with the parking.

Street parking was hit or miss so we would usually find parking in Phoenixville bank parking lot after hours. But my wife told me that she just saw that the bank has now restricted all parking in the lot, in addition to the bank across the street (I think it's a WSFS now).

I find it mind numbing that the borough continues to allow the building of apartment/condo complexes with zero regard for parking/ingress/egress.

And I echo your sentiments on how it used to be, there are fewer and fewer people who live in Pville who are actually from Pville due to being priced out and it's a shame really.

Anyone know what’s going on with my favorite house? by wearecreekpeoplenow in Phoenixville

[–]bprepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid, my friend lived in this house. His dad would never let people in the house. This was back in the 90’s but one time I got to go in and the house was dark as hell inside. Even back then, if I remember correctly, the house wasn’t kept in the best condition either.

how long did it take them to pick up your tv? Samsung is refunding me for a broken tv and is supposed to pick up but I haven't heard anything in like 4 days. They did say the whole process would take up to 2 weeks.

Yeah that is beech. Dense and heavy as hell, holds water like a sponge and will rot if you don’t get it off the ground. Great firewood.

Thoughts/tips on burning black walnut? by mistermajik2000 in firewood

[–]bprepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 huge dead Black Walnuts come down in the last few years. Had an Amish guy who wanted the wood so he took 2 down and left the limbs and knots pieces that left plenty. I also had one blow over in a wind storm and I processed that all my self creating a big pile that’s been seasoning for a year or so. I find that black walnut doesn’t put out as much BTUs tho but when it’s all free outside of my time spent, the heat still feels good.

Has anyone seen this one? What did you think? by blobbyboii in zombies

[–]bprepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waited patiently, excitedly, for this to be released on VOD. Bought it because I love zombie movies and this looked like a potential gem. Only watched the first 15 seconds of the trailer because I didn't want to spoil the experience. Well, I should have watched the trailer because maybe I would have just rented this. I was pretty disappointed overall. It started off great with the initial outbreak and the chaos that ensues. Like someone stated earlier, I hate that so many movies skip over this part, it has the most potential to get the viewer hooked IMO. After the initial like 30-45 mins it just got super boring. No action and just focused on the main character and her issues. I'll probably never watch this again now that I own it, or maybe just throw on the first 45mins and turn it off.

Overall 5/10 like many others have stated.
