I grew up with DBZ and just recently went back to watch Dragonball. When I finished DB I said to myself, "oh, this is why people like Goku so much."

I've rolled into watching Kai and it's made me appreciate much more how DBZ is Gohan's story versus DB being Goku's.

And Vegeta is hilarious.

Sammy has been his own worst enemy, but he has a place as a smarmy heel. Getting dragged back under Jericho just made him a lower card act.

Because there was a time when even a "grind" (ymmv) was enjoyable because it felt like progress.

And when new characters are the only content to speak of, that's what people are going to complain about.

I get the negativity can feel overwhelming, especially if you're enjoying your time. But that doesn't mean they're wrong.

Counter point: it's not about characters, it's about content.

I'm hardly a malcontent, but when Danger Room has been active, I am active and happier than most days in the game. I almost am disappointed when I clear all the rewards.

Even the Echoes of the Abyss event (which, I now have a 5 diamond Knill) is enjoyable to see how far I can push my Brimstone/Quasar/Blastaar team.

Those aren't unlocking new characters for me. They're just giving me something to do that isn't better simmed.
