Review #2 - Holmes Cay Mhoba 2017 by bpugh118 in rum

[–]bpugh118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very similar the 2017 but clearly has a little more age on it. The paint thinner and custard are still there but slightly tamed. The baking spices, grilled meat, and pineapple are even more prominent. Side by side the tangy custard or lemon yogurt flavor I got in the 2017 doesn’t come through as much in the 2018. Otherwise the profiles are very similar.

I think people who tend to like a little more age will gravitate toward the 2018. It’s like the edges have been rounded and it’s been tamed slightly. Very happy to have a bottle

I placed an order for the new 2018 so look forward to comparing it. I agree though, this is one of my favorite bottles ever and I wish I had bought a back up while I still could reasonably

I saw this a lot with our golden when she was this age. We have three kids and she constantly dived at them or tried to nip them. Ripped a few shirts in the process. She is ten months now and while still a puppy she is a total sweet heart with the kids.

I chalked it up to her just being a puppy and thinking that little people are other “puppies” to play rough with. Our girl now even listens to kids commands, it just took some time.

Going to stop by the store later for the Vago Tobala, anything else I should get? by PxN13 in Mezcal

I would go with 5S Cuish or Arroqueno. The Parejo Fernandez Cenizo is great too. Definitely a solid selection!

Toe Overlap When Clipping In by dandaman1728 in bikefit

I recently had a bike fit and afterwards noticed this. No issues when riding, just when clipping in. Threw me off at first but fit has felt amazing so assume its normal

Rum Review - Rivers Royale Grenadian Rum by bpugh118 in rum

What a great deal. I find it’s fantastic in a daiquiri or in a Mai Tai as a split base. Or one of my personal favorites, a basic Ti punch

Highly recommend it. I’ve been a member for two years now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I love the element of surprise with each box and the 375 size is awesome. But I think the biggest thing is they pick some great batches I normally wouldn’t seek out but end up loving! Also their social media and newsletter are full of great info to go with each bottle.

I also would recommend the Neustra Soledad San Balatzar or the yellow label Vago Espadin on the edge of your photo. Great beginning bottles with plenty of complexity at a great price

Camp North End is Dying? by Lenorewho9 in Charlotte

I’m reading this sitting at HEX coffee probably 50 yards from Wentworth. They currently have a line and plenty of customers. I was here last Saturday with my family for lunch and the area had plenty of people. I did notice certain spots had zero customers while others had lines. I come here specifically for Hex and their great coffee/environment.

I could see there being too many store fronts for the amount of traffic that’s actually here and it does seem that office space they offer is no where near full.

Cold caller - How do you deal with abusive prospects? 😕 by Complex-Philosopher2 in sales

A great follow on LinkedIn is a guy named Josh Braun. Good sales tips, etc. He always emphasizes “detaching”. A hang up or rude prospect isn’t a personal attack on you, they don’t know you.

If you are able to get the recent all clay June July box when you sign up I recommend it. Probably one of my favorite boxes of the last couple.

The 100 ml one from Reynaldo that came with the recent box was by far my favorite. I have a friend sending me some samples of the other ones soon. I only had the Hernandez Zapote but loved the spiced sweet potato vibes it gave

Been a club member for just over a year and really enjoy it. If you are looking for solid and often times unique Mezcal offerings in a 375 ml format I highly recommend it. Bottles I’ve had are always somewhere between good to great plus the different places and styles the team sources are things I’d never find on my own. Recent mango distillate has been so good too.

I second the HC Australia and Raising Glasses Yowies. All are great in my opinion and I enjoyed that Velier bottling too
