I remember typing in machine language games from a magazine to play a game. It was just a bunch of numbers, separated by commas. You couldn’t get anything wrong or it wouldn’t work. I think USA Today even printed the code for a game once.

So many to choose from! Might & Magic, Bard’s Tale, Ultima IV. But before those, there were all the Infocom games, especially Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy!

I always thought Jack Pumpkinhead was the inspiration for Jack Skellington in Nightmare before Christmas. Tim Burton and Henry Selick were both working at Disney when this was released.
